Bain released his recruiting Mailbag with an interview with Tucker DeVries on the recent ISU attention and now offer. It would take a lot for him to not got play for his dad imo but Prohm and the advantages of playing at ISU has him intrigued.

Not super up on all of ‘21 recruiting.

What/Who is are priority?

Feel like Sallis is #1, since we’ve been in on him for a long time.Is he teammates with DeVires? If so, thatd be a good combo to get.

Who’s our top 5 right now?
Sallis and DeVries are on the same AAU.
Sallis is the #1, but ISU can't put all their chips in landing a five star.
DeVries has his top 3 of Drake, Creighton and ISU. Through deductive thought, I can't see him going to Creighton over Drake, so I'm guessing it's down to Drake and us. It's a crap shoot to predict between the two.

Really not a crap shoot when it is his Dad recruiting him.

Top 5 in my mind right now with long relationships and constant comments from the players are:
1. Hunter Sallis
2. Deebo Coleman
3. Alex Fudge
4. Aiden Applewhite
5. Johnathan Lawson

I could see Bryce Hopkins and Tucker DeVries breaking into the list but they are new priorities and not sure I see either really ending up in Ames right now.

Sallis is a pipe dream. I think the most likely are Fudge and Lawson.

The Kentucky definitely offer hurt ISU's chances... to be clear I listed the priorities thus I think Prohm would chose that order if all the targets would want to be Cyclones not the likely hood they will commit.
Totally agree Fudge and Lawson are more likely and would be a very good class. (w/Hunter)

Are there any other PF/C type players on their radar for '21?

It seems like all of our reported interests are 6'4"-6'7" type guys and we will only have Conditt (Sr) and Foster (So, potentially leaving after 2 yrs) as true big men for '21 after Solo graduates.

It seems like Prohm likes the tall guard/wing types but I can't help feeling like we're going to get destroyed on the boards and down low if either Conditt or Foster have a bad game or foul trouble.

Looking ahead, the cupboard looks pretty bare in the front court come the '22 season even though that is a long ways off right now.

Hasn't Coleman essentially eliminated ISU already? I thought the good guys didn't make his last cut.

He's been a Creighton fan his entire life, he was basically raised in the program, his dad helped build it into what it is today. Idk how we would have any kind of an edge over them.

Wonder how strange the zoom meeting was with Devries dad on the call with them. Not many times do you have to do the recruiting of a kid while the kid is being recruited to a different school by his dad.
Probably was strange for the ISU staff but just as strange for his dad. He wants him to play for him but also wants what is best for his son. Exactly what that is can be tough to see when you are so close. Tough position to be in.

I was thinking the same thing. I am sure that it is just as easy to get a big in the transfer market as it is to get a freshman so probably going after the best player available is the best strategy. I would imagine that they take one in the next class, possibly a JUCO.
