So this is Dudley Blackwell???
How is he just falling into our lap so easily?

He is a three star ranked around 147. It’s not like we are getting a top 30 or 50 kid. Not saying he is not good. Just not like we are going up against Duke or any of the other teams that pay. We have been recruiting him a long time also.
I remember when Fran signed a felon, only to have that felon leave him at the alter after a week on campus. That got a real chuckle out of me.
Agree but I am wondering why Rivals is so down on him? 247 has him as a four star and ESPN has him rated in the top 100. Wondering if playing for Huntington Prep this year will give him some more exposure and increase his ranking a bit. Will be interesting to see.
Just based on his videos I've seen, I think he might be the best player out of this and last year's classes.
Am I seriously the only one that noticed the eagle at the end of this post? This has to mean something considering Marquette is one of his finalists, and their mascot is a golden eagle.
Everyone but Rivals has him at a 4 Star and a top 100-125 player (247, ESPN, Hoop Diamonds, PrepHoops, and Verbal Commits) I'm still not sure what Rivals is so low on him.
The composite index is a 3 star. 247 has him as a 4 star.
I'll have to disagree with you on this take. Blackwell is rated in the top 100 by multiple sites and I'd say that's a pretty dang good get.
Nobody said he was not a good get. The original question was basically how did we get him all of the sudden. I basically said we have been recruiting him for a long time and his ranking is around 148. That is what he is rated I guess when you put all the sites together. Nowhere did I say he was bad or not a good player. Just not a top 50 kid. We were not going up against the big dogs and landed some one and done kid.
James Kane is from his area. We've been the front runner for him since we got Kane even though Florida wanted him
So we take 3 guys correct? And assume some way or another it all plays out in the end whether that be someone transfers or Halliburton turns pro?
Not really since right above that you show the 247 composite ranking and he is a three star ranked 148. When 247 lists it's top 150 they have him at 148. That is the ranking I go by and that is the ranking 247 uses as well.

With offers from Florida, Okie St. Pitt, FGCU and Miss St I don't think we should minimize a commitment from Blackwell. Obviously a lot of coaches believe Dudley is high major worthy even though it isn't a Duke/UK offer (which are reserved for top 40).
From the few video's I have seen he probably needs a year of development to become a starter but the raw talent is evident to be a major contributor soon. Very good athlete, good passer and defender already with a developing shot and could use a bit of dev on his strength.

Blackwell could be a solid player but all this arguing over 3 star... 4 star... composite ranking... is stupid. Jakolby long and Terrence lewis were ranked very similar and they’re not big 12 level players
This staff knows guards as good as anyone in the country
they’re okay with SF/PF evaluation
terrible with big men evaluation.
