I remember the name. Don't think he was as starter. I think he was a roll player. Not positive though

I found this snippet from Jnecker4cy in an old CF thread:

https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/will-any-top-100-iowa-kids.96377/

Marc Carlson was from Fort Dodge, he played on the 92-93 and the 93-94 team, that first team played in the NCAA's. He was the starting center at 6-6 when Loren Meyer got hit by the train and had to sit out a few games.

I remembered Meyer sitting out, but I completely forgot about the train.

I think getting hit by a train is one of the best excuses ever for sitting out.

I remember the train. Forgot who took over for Loren.

UPDATE WITH 2020 F BEN CARLSON

http://ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=3923

Carlson will be busy this fall and has already lined up three unofficial visits. He’ll start with a trip to Kansas State on Sept. 2. “My sister plays volleyball there,” he said. “I’ve been down there a couple times. They have a really nice campus. They like to push it a lot, really athletic team.”

Carlson also has family connections at Iowa State. He’ll be in Ames on September 14, 2017. “My dad played there, so I’ve always liked them,” he said. “It’s crazy down there, the fans are great. They push the ball a lot and play fast.”

While in Iowa, Carlson plans to see Creighton as well. “They’ve had a lot of players like me and they develop their players well,” he said. “I like that a lot.”
Carlson is also talking with Minnesota and Wisconsin about a fall visit as well.

I've forgotten a few things over the years. Some things I did in college likely contributed to my forgetfulness.

Side story: I played a pickup game against Loren at the Rec Center. I was the tallest guy on our team and drew the short straw to guard Loren. I was 6'2" and maybe 175lbs at the time. Dude ran over me like he was a train.
