to be fair, no one knew about Blackwell. Staff kept this one very close to the vest.

That and there are a few others as well. No way does the staff quit recruiting everyone and just concentrate on 3 players. That would be crazy town for a college coach to do that unless we had silent commits that we don't know about. They are constantly recruiting new guys.

Come on, you’ve never maintained relationships for booty-calls? You’ve moved on, but don’t necessarily explicitly express that to them.
I doubt he meant we’re literally not communicating with any other players for 2020. At some point, with only one open scholarship left, you move on to just a select few get that truly get recruited with non-contingent offers.

Looks like Blackwell received a slew of offers this May after Nike EYBL Atlanta. Marquette, Ohio State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, and Providence all offered. His previous offers before that included Ole Miss, Iowa State and Florida. He reportedly took an OV to Marquette in June but that's the only recent visit I could find. He now plays at Huntington Prep in West Virginia. Some notable links below.

"Blackwell has long arms, good athleticism and plays a tough, physical brand of basketball. He’s active on the glass, brings energy to both sides of the ball and has improved as a scorer. Blackwell is at his best slashing to the rim or getting out in transition, but he did make a notable three three-pointers against Legacy. Perhaps his biggest strength is defense, where he projects as a player that can cover perimeter prospects and power forwards at the next level."
