Who were our major competitors for Haliburton...?

I seem to remember he was kind of ours the entire time.

CW and the whole "I will run around Jack Trice naked if we don't get this guy" story.

Nebraska, Minnesota, and Cincinnati IIRC.

It would of been interesting to see if Wisconsin would of been more involved had Tyler Herro decommited before Haliburton had already committed to ISU. Wiscy ended up taking a PG commit late in the cycle.

Really interesting that Jackson is scheduled first. That makes me think they will take a commitment from whomever wants to commit first. If I remember right, they didn't let visit McKinley Wright visit a couple of years ago.

We also didn’t offer Haliburton until July, just like Tre Jackson. Once we offered Haliburton, things took off from there.

New name? Probably jumping in this too late considering he’s a 4-star.

Considering there is interest from 3 other High Major schools being reported he is likely open and has told those schools he would be open to hearing from them.
That said the staff usually get's commitments from players they have long standing relationships with so I would agree it seems like a long shot. Recruiting is full of surprises though Etienne is a interesting name to monitor if there are no commitments in September.

Screw the Greek Freek. Give me Air Italia.

frt, really like his stroke and length. Obviously we can only really see so much from his IHCC highlights, but his shot looks good and seems to have a smooth handle.
