32 years ago this week. I was 12 years old and at this game. Also these exact uniforms show make a return for 1 game each year. So good.

I was there. I was 13. Had just moved to Iowa and assumed this was a standard issue ISU game. My only other ISU experiences were watching them win in Norman and Stillwater a few years earlier.

What's the guess on attendance? Lots of tickets out there...

54,000, one has to ask "do we have a fair weather fan base?" Team is 7-2 and we have trouble selling out the stadium, farmers are out of the field, the weather should be great today, and we are struggling to get fans out to the game.

That seems a bit extreme. And simply saying "7-2" ignores the "how you got there" part of the equation. I'm sure two straight losses, one a home loss to an inferior opponent and the other a blowout, took the wind out of a lot of peoples' sails.

In terms of tickets sold, just eyeballing the Ticketmaster site there might be a thousand(?) tickets that haven't been sold? So it doesn't appear to be all that far off from a sellout.

But in terms of actual butts in seats, there a lot of resale tickets available for a small fraction of the cost they were fetching for Texas Tech. Maybe the weather will help entice a decent last-minute walkup crowd.

After the last three games and the blustery weather I’m not surprised attendance is down. I keep hoping for another win, but I’m not confident at all. Even the staff picks don’t show a lot of confidence. Will we finally see something we haven’t seen all year…a complete four quarter positive performance….from this team? I really hope the team proves me wrong, but right now there are 9 games of evidence saying no.

ISU has never had much of a walk up crowd, and we have a large enough of a fan base that this game should be sold out. I get the feeling a lot of people are just waiting for the other shoe to drop and we struggle the next three games. Maybe we just have to many fan thinking "I have seen all of this before, and just do not believe yet."

Its going to be a beautiful day, no rain and the sun is shining and we are not selling out the game to with a 7-2 team and still in play for a slot in the conference championship game. Get out and go to the game.
