To be fair I said the same thing about WV #13 right before he scored their TD.

But at least someone was attempting to cover #13. It was just a really good throw and he won the battle physically.

Butler could have shotgunned a beer before anyone got to him.

I think their dbs got caught up or something. Was almost underwhelming, haha.

I'll disagree because the DB should have known in that area of the field #13 in going to the corner of the endzone and was really late getting there.

I was at the game. I know what I saw. We had a nice pile of offensive stats and offensive highlight reel moments. We were far from perfect on offense and special teams. DM had 12 carries for 1 yard or less last night against a 3 man front. Our OL run blocking was was not that good. Most of DMs yards were from bouncing to the outside or broken tackles when there was no hole up the middle. I hate to bring this up after our awesome victory, but there are still many things that need worked on.

What about the other 17 carries? Does the OL get credit for those?

True that there's plenty of need for improvement.

But the Oline is still getting off the ball quicker and getting some better push.

So, Montgomery when he wasn't stumped for no gain, 29 total carries - 12 carries for no gain = 17 carries. 188 yards/17 carries = 11.06 yds per carry when he wasn't stopped. Pretty nasty.

Moving to Virginia, I’ve got to say, as soon as I got to southern Ohio all the way to Virginia it was gorgeous. That said, when I stopped for gas in West Virginia, it felt.....like a particular set of a horror movie.

Its definitely pretty depressing. Spent a few days in Ravenswood, WV, going between there and Charleston a few times, everywhere around there just seemed sad.

75% of those plays he bounced to the outside were counter plays.

Too many of you are stuck in the Mac or CPR era where we only had 1 or 2 good players anyway.

New day, new era, brand new program that doesn't rely on 1 or 2 guys but a team of guys who've been getting meaningful snaps this year.

We might win, we might lose - but it won't because of 1 player anymore...

This was prescient. Great comment! (He posted this right before kickoff.)

One of his earliest carries was a 37 yard run. Was he supposed to come back and run around to make sure the Oline was picking up their blocks?

Kind of a thread resurrection, but watching the debacle at the end of the UT/WVU game...and saw & heard several WVU players chanting **** you at the crowd near the endzone when they made the 2 pt conversion.
Just as classy as their whiny coach.

I don't care for the WV players or staff. Constantly running their mouths.
It has been that way for a long time. I remember going to the WVU 5 years ago in JTS when the visitors were on the West side. My tix were down by their bench around the 50 and the entire game they were running their mouths to the fans (keep in mind these are the older non-student sections). Ever since then I have not had much respect for how they run their team. Went to the game again this year and saw nothing to show they’ve changed.

Before this year, my most hated football program in the Big 12 was K-State but they no longer hold this place. WVU might be the slimiest, most unprofessional program and fanbase in the conference.
