So did Curtis..... and his was a poor decision from 30ft out, not a wide open corner 3. Probably should bench them both until they learn their lessons.
Surely you aren’t comparing Curtis Jones performance today to Heises?

Sure. But the reason he doesn’t impact the box score much is he airballs wide open threes late in games like today. He is decent. But he was not good late in the game today, and other players also play D and do other “non box score” things. We should have taken him out.

By the way Tech keep going at him in OT and and scored every time they did. Those points actually were reflected in the box score.
Because TJ feels comfortable with him guarding their best scorers. They weren’t attacking Nate, they were using their best players. The Anderson kids shot was pretty damn impressive. Couldn’t play better defense. The other team has some guys that are pretty good too.

I don't post much, but this was a GREAT win. In a just world (non big ten/sec world) this would have been a 'sexy' win. TT is a very good team, and it was a gritty as hell to beat them in a conference game on their home court. Go Cyclones from a proud alumnus deep in North Carolina.
Tech was very impressive. They played like a Top 15 team that was locked in on their home court. I did not realize they had that much offensive skill on their team this year.

Regarding the Big 10/SEC gripe. I have not seen the B10 get much, if any love for basketball this year. SEC does, but they deserve it this season. Objectively, they are the vest conference. Most years it is the Big 12 but this year it’s the SEC.

Yeah, they did have more offensive talent than I expected. Heise had 4 fouls and wasn’t stopping anyone late and wasn’t playing well on offense. Would’ve liked to see a change and heard the same from many.

He will have a better game Wednesday, I’m sure.

Nope.... just comparing air balls in which there wasn't much difference in them. They both missed the rim resulting in tech getting the ball. Let's not be too critical on one being worse than the other.

They "went after him" because he was on their best player, and they hit some pretty crazy shots.

This is a fair response, and I was probably a bit hyperbolic. I only meant that it seems that this win is not going to get the credit it deserves; at least not in the short term.

I was so proud of our team today. Just amazing. Sometimes the other team is going to play well, and your team is out of sync but you just have to keep plugging away and never give up. That is what we did today. Over and over past ISU teams wouldn't have found that extra push at the end when the game seems out of reach. This team finds that spark over and over. Pretty unique.

I figure I can ***** about things when they lose, why nitpik about things when they win. M

There are a couple of folks here that would ***** about getting a free beer because it's not the normal brand they drink. It's how some people roll I guess.

Find fault amongst all the good

Message received loud and clear guys. Absolutely zero criticizing of any player that shoots 1-6, airballs a 3 and fouls out while giving up 4 straight points in OT . Got it!
Oh look, now he's got his feelings hurt. So sad.

Can you be specific about which "4 points in OT" that Heise personally gave up with "no resistance"? Thanks

It’s just a ridiculously bad take to complain about a player coming off the bench to grab 9 rebounds and play solid defense on their best players. He was playing so bad TJ played him 31 minutes and had him starting in OT. I get everyone can have their opinions, but maybe they shouldn’t when they are objectively this bad. All evidence points to Heise having a solid game off the bench, and we don’t win without him.
