Stop this clip at 23-24 seconds. I paused it there at the height of Brockington's jump to attempt to block the last sec shot by OSU. Thing of beauty. Izaiah's got hops.

And he's trained himself to shoot also at the peak of his jump-shot also. Doesn't take much 'jumping' off either. Always in the air! Must have strong legs!

There is absolutely no chance he was told not to shoot.
Do you really think TJ tells Gabe when he can and cannot shoot? I'm sorry that's insane.
Well yeah the thought about Gabe not shooting had occurred to me. You guys are probably right though. Gabe brings a lot more to the table than just his long-range shooting. He needs to realize when he doesn't have the touch and try to help the team in other ways. Which he does.

I thought he did a better job in the second half in terms of making the extra pass, driving the hoop, etc. He kind of knew it wasn't his night from long range.

Gabe also had 5 assists and zero turnovers. The guy can't hit a shot on most nights, but he brings it in almost every other area.
No turnovers for Gabe is huge. He was turning it over a lot.
Check

Gabe's mechanics are wildly different shot to shot, ... but I'm not convinced it's a head thing so much as a form thing.
Oh definitely. I'm not sure it's ideal for him to take the second most shots on the team, but when I think about it, almost everyone else is really timid at times and I'm not sure who else should be taking them. I really do like it when he attacks the basket more often, because even just showing your a threat to do it will give you more space to shoot next time.
I do think he needs to shoot less, drive more, when his long ball is not working. There are other ways he can and is helping the team.
He is taking a lot of shots without squaring his body or setting his feet. Some .1% basketball players in the world can hit some shots like that. But Gabe clearly can't and you can tell if his shot has a chance to go in or not before the ball leaves his hands most times. He's a senior and is what he is at this point. We'll learn as fans to enjoy his good games and cover our eyes for the rest. He plays really hard on the other end so anything else he gives is kind of bonus.
This late in his career it may just be who he is. But you never give up on a shooter. Sometimes things just click. May not even be this year. Either way, his defensive ability, effort, and leadership outweigh his shooting immensely. His last foul was absolute bull **** and I actually smiled when he was pissed of about it because his demeanor is usually so calm.
Agree. It was good to see his emotion. He is so important to this team. Nobody harder on himself probably than himself.

ESPN PLUS showed our 24 game losing streak...A few too many times for my taste....

What a way to Break our Road Losing Streak...You could tell that the Cowboys really wanted this game especially at Gallagher Hall (its Original Name)..

Great games from Tyrese Hunter ..Isiah Brockington and Long Range Shooting Caleb Grill, with everyone else chipping in and playing GREAT DENIAL DEFENSE!

GREAT DAY TO BE A CYCLONE....

Agree. I hope he lets tonight's scenario get him doing that more. Take it to the rim, use the glass, or pull-up jumpers. His '3' is just not there. Can't explain the 0-4 from the line whatsoever, but at least the guy never quits playing hard and believing in himself.
Gabe Kalscheur Might Just be an ELITE Defender in the making...Taking that charge was great defensive play IMHO.

That was a group effort on offense tonight we need that every game going forward. IB was on fire and Conditt was huge down low, grill was doing what grill does.

Regarding Gabe, I'll pretend it's 'next day'. Gabe needs to continue to start IMO. He does play great defense most of the time. In tonight's game his shots were not falling, at all. You could see Coach stayed with him, let him keep shooting a little too long.

But in the second half, at least the middle to latter part, you could tell Coach had told him to stop shooting, pass to someone, only shoot if really necessary. That's what they did. Team made a few extra passes. Gabe didn't look to shoot. We won.

With Gabe, I think you will be able to tell within the first 5-7 shots early, if he's on or off. Keep him in there if he's not hitting but tell him to not shoot, pass to a teammate.. He also gets more bench time. But you keep playing him.

If not hitting Gabe shoots only if they leave him very open near the end of the clock or if needed. Pressure off. Formula to win with this team.

He is a good teammate in that if he isn’t hitting he doesn’t force it.

I'm sorry guys but K-State isn't dancing. They didn't beat anybody in their non-conf and the loss to Kansas at home was their last shot at a signature 1-A win.

Yeah, they beat Tech and Texas but the NIT is full of teams like that who had a few really strong wins here and there.

TCU has a good record but their resume is really thin right now and they have one of the hardest remaining schedules. The most likely scenario is them or Oklahoma takes the 7th spot and the remaining two go to the NIT.

Monte's senior year I think they were pretty good. Maybe even 2018-2019 as well.

Even with Matt and Monte shooting free throws, I think Hoiberg’s senior year we shot them at a better percentage as a team. Hoiberg may have had more attempts than Monte and Matt did.

Agreed. KSU isn’t making it. I think the Big 12 definitely gets 8 though.
