Your not wrong but we were there in person. They were absolutely horrific. Completely unacceptable performance last night.
I can't think of a single thing that went well last night.
Lipsey I guess but the bar is low.

Yes, Hobierg's teams did lose on the road, but not alot of ugly blowouts, because they could score points. They just couldn't stop the other team from scoring, which played into the opponents' home-court advantage. As I mentioned above, living on either the offensive or defensive extreme doesn't seem to be the way to go if you want to be the conference champion.Ok, well they lost alot on the road then. I remember many times watching them lose down in Lubbock to horrible Tech teams on a Tuesday after beating Kansas the previous game.

It was beyond horrible.I missed the first half. After a few minutes of the second half, watching us flail against Rebraca I turned it off. That was horrible last night.
I understand, but remember when we had to take softball to win the series and the basketball team showed up to cheer them on?That was awesome although I do feel sorry for the Hawk athletes under see their sorry department leadership.I mean, sure. But a couple points in rebuttal. First, I was responding to a post that specifically mentioned the last half decade, and it's undoubtedly true that we have been bad in many of those games in the major sports. Second, whether you're talking the Cy-Hawk series this year (we are leading) or its history (the series is tied), I'm referring more to the most popular. Sure, I want to win the Cy-Hawk annual competition; I want to win the football game more.
It was beyond horrible.
That is not a burn the tape situation. Force these guys to watch it repeatedly, all year. These games absolutely do matter. Really disappointed in the effort. Defensive rotations, hustling, rebounding, moving feet laterally, reacting to adversity and crowd noise - the worst of the TJ era so far. Seeing iowa "out-tough" Iowa State - that should bother TJ for awhile.
There’s a lot of care to spread around. I think Barta and Pollard should race. We know who would win that one.I did. Now look at the 4 sports people in the fanbase care about and count the wins
Ya there was something wrong with the players attitudes. Minus Lipsey and Rob. Which is becoming a consistent trend in most areas of this team's performances. It was beyond horrible.

Or they are better players, better coached or a hell of a lot more focused. Something anyway.Because they have multiple Iowans, legacy recruits, they get up for this game, they treat it like a rivalry.
Silver linings are hard to come by, but again, Lipsey in his first true road game just keeps passing the test. The development of Rob into a competent offensive player to go along with his energy, effort and defense is very impressive. And a say "development of..." giving credit to the coaches, and it's deserved, but Rob has clearly put in an absolute ton of work.I can't think of a single thing that went well last night.

Yeah I like the fact that unlike TOE we don't boo our own players. Pretty sure they are trying their best 99% of the time or they would be replaced with someone else.I agree that it was unacceptable but I just don’t like bashing the kids and program when the only thing it has done is overachieve
Some fans overreact, 1 game is not just a chapter on the season but the entire book in their mind. 1 game turns into trends. But does not mean that some chapters should not be re-written. Reasonable critiquing is fair, (not the end of the world approach a few take)I agree that it was unacceptable but I just don’t like bashing the kids and program when the only thing it has done is overachieve
Funny you mention that. They sort of forgot about their hero 1950s football coach that became their AD and consigned their football team to 20 years of utter despair. This condition is called "Evy Amnesia".Beating either isn't as frequent as many's memory serves.
I'd have to check but I think ISU has beaten KU an average of maybe once every three years over the last 40ish seasons.
CyHawk has gone back and forth and pretty even after 1920*.
*Hok fan will yell about the series record but don't know that just like they don't know much pre-Hayden football.

I have always defended TJ playing Rob last year for the reason that TJ believes correctly that for his teams to win they have to be consistently elite in practice. He feels Rob helps set and uphold that expectation, so he's going to reward it. I love it, but I loved it last year when Rob was out their air-banking 3 footers and bricking FTs.
I just don't agree. Nothing about the offense looks broken, save for several guys jump shot and inability to make shots inside. Iowa did come out more intense that our guys did, so maybe from a preparation stand point I do agree, but schematically the offense didn't appear to be 'broken' like the poster I replied to was alluding.Sorry, if you get thoroughly dominated by a mediocre team without who is clearly their best player, then you failed as a coach. If the offense consists of this team shooting a bunch of threes, then that’s a failure.
Coaching staffs have bad prep weeks and games. They are human. It happens to every coach.
Guys weren’t ready to compete on either end of the court, save for Lipsey and Rob. The defense was slow, hot garbage for most of the first half. Iowa was making two or three passes then getting a warmup level open three.
TJs a damn good coach and this is an excellent staff. They had a bad night or few days. It happens.
Or they are better players, better coached or a hell of a lot more focused. Something anyway.

I AGREE THEY LOOKED LIKE A PROHM COACHED TEAM LAST NIGHT!!Yeah those who have been making fun of Fran's recruiting and coaching have alot of egg on their faces and need to face reality. We all made fun of the Murray brothers being "big gets" out of high school, and they're both gonna be All Americans and lottery picks. The unathletic white Iowans they recruit consistently knock down their shots. The coach's kids who belong on mid-major rosters make smart, winning plays. And Fran for all his antics runs a high quality offense and his teams play motivated and focused. AND they always show up for their in-state rivalry games, whereas ISU has shown up once for this game since Niang was on the roster.
I'm not upset by ISU's bad shooting last night. You expect it and live with it. I'm upset that I saw the same motivation and effort levels that characterized the Prohm teams and basically says "i dont give a **** about this game and i dont want to be here"
Hopefully last night was just an anomaly regarding the intensity, effort, defensive rotations, rebounding, and overall lack of focus.
You turned off the 'better' half. LOLI missed the first half. After a few minutes of the second half, watching us flail against Rebraca I turned it off. That was horrible last night.
