I don’t think tonight is about NIL, we’re just getting our ass kicked. I was responding to why we didn’t get a transfer shooter in this year. Top end shooters are going for a min of 500k and some a couple times that.

Shoon and Holmes picked us over some offers, but several others - even those that we absolutely would have gotten if not for NIL didn’t. That keep our ceiling pretty low this year IMHO.

This is completely ridiculous. You are actually referring to top shooters who actually play defense the way TJ expects. Those are going to be hard to come by for any team.

Those guys are on teams like Houston who consistently have Top 10 offenses and defenses.

The problem is for 2 years now except Brockington he's had a roster full of guys who can't make a simple basket consistently.

Someone needs go tell him you can compromise a little. I mean, what difference does it make if we have games like this anyway where our defense is atrocious?

It sounds like Hinson was a good offensive player and he's doing quite well this year at Pitt on the offensive end. He would be our leading scorer this year but TJ ran him off because his defense wasn't the best.

This is also why I was so upset last May when AJ Green turned us down. I knew the offense would be even worse than last year if that's even possible.

It’s unfortunate very true. Believe me, I’d love for it not to be. Have you not seen the NIL funds with 20-25mil annual goals even at schools like Iowa? Go check my Iowa NIL Update thread if you want to know where they’re headed.

I’m not saying you’re exaggerating or lying, I think you’re getting bad information. From everything I’ve read, that type of money is reserved for football and the MBB only/MBB power schools.

It’s totally unfair but I have had the question the past two years of if TJ can coach a team that has offensive talent and is not the gritty need to play hard defense to win over achieving style team. Maybe next year recruits will move us that direction to find out but to get to next level we need to find out.

Don’t disagree at all. I know he’d love to play more uptempo, but the guys obviously aren’t capable of that.
