My luke-warm take is that 2-22 isn't that bad because that season only had like three non-con games outside of Iowa and the "SEC Challenge" or whatever conference it was that year. Throw in eight more games against kenpom #200-300 and it's probably just a run-of-the-mill sh*tty record instead of a historically sh*tty record.

Oh 100%.

And from what I remember that was a team that would have benefitted from some time to gel a bit more in the noncon.

It still would have been bad, but probably not 2-22 bad. We probably pick up at least a couple wins in conference if we'd had the hilton crowd president.

I think Walden's was the worst because it was more novel at the time. Now we've come to expect that we'll sh*t ourselves at home against FCS from time to time.

Haha no 2-22 was ******* bad as was 0fer conference and the two 20 loss seasons in a row.

It was absolutely bad, but it probably would not have been 2-22 in a normal year with fans and a nonconference. Still terrible and fireable, but not 'this guy is setting historical records for bad' bad.

You got me I guess. I’m 24 years old and expect the #2 team in the nation to beat a unranked, injury plagued opponent.

Maybe I should know better from being a beaten down Cyclone fan.

I mean, upsets happen right? it’s not like WVU is chopped liver. Than won at the Phog without DeVries and the big guy who made all the 3’s. We are now getting everyone’s best effort. We’ll hit a wall and then bounce back. It’s a long season.

lol pretty much. I just want ISU to beat an inferior opponent and it enrages me when they can’t.

I know.. Never fun, but WV has a good record and beat KU, Gonzaga. They are pretty solid.


And there is something about that place which brings out some bad shooting nights. This is not the first time

I'm not handling the loss well, but I'm glad I've avoided posting anything stupid on CF today. This is not a bad loss but it feels horrible because we are a really good team with high expectations. Don't think I have much more to say about it. On to UCF.

Not a bad loss, but when you want to win a conference championship today might be the difference. Houston pulls out a winnable road game and we drop a winnable road game. Hopefully it evens out but with our only matchup at Houston it probably puts us at a small disadvantage.

I've been reading about the refs and how they called the game. Today for a change I listened to the game on a WV radio station. They were really ******** about how bad the refs were against WV and how they were letting ISU get away with their physical play. Neither side was happy with the officiating

We played like total crap and it was a tie game with 2:30 left in a gym where we haven’t won since Fred Hoiberg. Having said that, I didn’t think this team could play that bad offensively.

they gave up 15 points in the last 2:30. thats not winning any games.

I'm not even upset really. Classic emotional letdown.

But there is plenty wrong with this team today, and honestly despite the winning it's been trending that way. Teams are game planning better now, and everyone is going to play slow and try to pack it in till someone that isn't jones can make a shot outside 3 feet. It won't take much, just a few to keep them honest. Going to have to adjust on some game planning too, it really looked like WV caught us off guard playing so slow, playing physical with the guards, and packing it in. So the coaches have to adjust here as well.

Several guys are at a crossroads here now that everyone has scouted them. Need a few guys to respond.
