How are the roads, conditions in central Iowa? Looks like you got about 6 inches, snow has stopped, but winds still strong at 25 mph or so?

Here in southern MO at the moment, it's about 28-28 d, 20 mph winds, light snow, but nothing really accumulated (less than .25 inch) and not much more expected. Had a lot of rain yesterday.

Roads aren't great but drivable. 9 inches of snow in Ames. Wind gusts were supposed to get up to 40 mph.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like eastern IA is quite a bit worse, not that Ames is great. Especially with the wind.

Well, I'm ready for some BB. Hopefully we can welcome Kelvin Sampson back to Ames with a cold and snowy Loss.
And stupid me for posting this in the wrong thread. It should be here.

I love Jamie, I really do, but I will never understand the "let's have the Junior Cyclone Club members sit in the student section instead of actual college students" thing during break.

No other athletics department does this stuff.

I get it given how many students are out of town.

But it makes less and less sense as we started seeing more conference games during break when we moved to the 18 game (and soon to be 20 game reportedly) schedule.

Yes, dorms still closed. Class is not in session yet. I believed they offered students the opportunity to buy some tickets, so they'll be interspersed with the families that buy up those sections as part of the Jr Cyclone Club, but it won't be the rowdy baselines you're used to.

Baylor and Kansas in recent years have benefitted from playing ISU early in the year before the students get back and have pulled off wins. Always irked me. This year the top team getting the break is Houston. At least we get Okie State for the last break game on Saturday and hopefully don't need that extra boost from the crowd in it.
our AD could simply put the games over break on the student package.....problem solved. No other athletics department gate keeps their students from attending like we do

I mean I watched a Purdue game the other night and there was not an empty seat to be found in their arena......student section was packed and filled to the brim. Only Iowa State does this to their students

You sure about this? I've been to two Bucky games including B1G conference game vs. Iowa and there were not very many students there at all.

It was just kind of regular folks in the student section.

That doesn't mean it was students though.

Hope they let fans fill empty seats but probably won’t

It'd be about impossible to do in any area other than GA. Especially since there will be late-arriving fans due to weather.
