I've watched that kind of thing happen over and over through the years. One team catches fire and is playing decisively all over the court. The other team starts thinking instead of reacting. This team seems tough minded enough to let that game be that game, and move on from it quickly.

Hopefully you are correct on the tough minded part. However, Wards shot to the chops would argue against that thought. That's not tough minded.....that's frustrated and cheap.

Our problem wasn't the 72. It was the 87.
That's a problem, too, but we went on a 9-0 run at the end of the game to make the offense look better. This offense struggled the whole 2nd half except last 3 minutes of the game. Periods of no baskets puts this team in some big holes which will be hard to get out of.

In the first 4 Big12 games ISU is shooting: 42% from 2, 21% from 3 and average 64 points a game.

If you keep an eye on other Big 12 games, the scores tend to be on the lower scoring side right now. There's alot of games in the 60s and low 70s.

Our 64 a game isn't some huge outlier that indicates our offense is bad.

It's some of both, our offense has been poor in conference play. That said, last night's game was just a bad day all around. Those happen.
Really need Gilbert and Jones to shoot it without conscience like the BYU guys were doing all night. Not to that volume of course, but both (especially Gilbert) look like they're trying to aim it right now.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, ISU needs to average 70 a game to finish in the top half of the conference. They can't have these 3-6 minute droughts and bench has to give them 8-12 points each game.
