Another tough opp. for the Twister Sisters, but very rare is it to get the #1 team in the country in your building. A win is a tough task, but if they pull it off it will make headlines across the country, maybe not ISU taking down OSU in FB big but still very significant. Hoping Anna can recreate the game she had against Baylor at home as a freshman.
Thanks CyclonesRulzzz. Yep, a huge one, the first time in history the #1 WBB team has set foot in Hilton Coliseum. As BF said in the DSM Register this morning, Griner will likely make the US Olympic team as a college junior. BF coached their point guard Odyssey Sims last year so he knows what a dynamic threat they are from all corners of the court. They probably have the best center and point guard in the nation and all the role players are silent but strong.
You're right Anna has to re-create the magic from two years ago when she basically played toe to toe with Griner. I'm afraid our guard court will be physically out-matched but maybe Moody will have one of her hot streaks.
3-pointer is the great equalizer here because Baylor shoots mostly 2's. If we get hot and hit at least 10 threes we'll be not blown out. I remember two years ago when we beat Baylor in Hilton by 20-some-odd points and it was so fun. Everybody was hitting threes. Lacey and Bolte were hot. We also beat Oklahoma that same year, and both those teams went on to the Final Four. Ah Memories.
I don't know what else to say really. After watching Baylor beat UConn on ESPN a few weeks ago it just seems like a lock that they'll win the national championship. But in college basketball, who knows.
GO CYCLONES!
