This is much more fun to do when a season can end on a win. Another season has come to a close and I do my end of season thanks.

A few regulars who whether it was a winner rating @GTO or posting Juicy Wiggle @cmjh10 or a mention every week or almost every week I'd like to shout out @t-noah @NWICY @danvillecyclone @Bestaluckcy @JEFF420 @NENick @67CY @Jdk @Texbudman @Hump4cy @cymac2408 @RagingCloner @Flynn4Heisman

This was one hell of a special season. I hope younger folk don't take it for granted. I'm only in my mid 40's but even that old I've dark times in our fball past and older than me have seen darker.

I'm not sure exactly what my expectations were for this year. I know wanted to finally beat EIU, finish in upper part of conference and go to a nice bowl game.

Well we did beat that team out east and rode that moment into a record tying start to the season and in the first year of the 12 team playoff it was us not EIU looking to the team from Iowa to crash the party.

Then we had our stumble. But this team bounced back with amazing resilience (unlike a Pittsburgh team that also started 7-0 then crashed and burned) and by taking care of what we could control and getting some outside help we found a path to the conference title game and a chance at making the playoff with a win.

Sadly again we stumbled but bounced back getting to play imo the coolest bowl game outside of the playoff games.

Miami had guys out or played less than usual but so did we and when.we lost Freyler I thought it could go bad fast.

But once again as we proved all season decimated by injuries on the defensive side of the ball it just the next man coming in and balling out.

I'm so thankful for this season as in the middle of it might life turned upside down and this season lifted my spirits. Just a hour before game time I was securing an interview.

Thanks to all for an amazing season and now we can focus on our amazing mbb team.
Good luck on the interview!!

ESPN announcing has become absolutely abysmal. Instead of just calling the game they wish cast and beat their pet storylines into the ground.
They have a billion dollar plus annual budget for buying inventory to air on TV and a 10 million dollar annual budget for producing said inventory.

I'll prolly have to watch the game a 3rd time, but I didn't notice Brezina much in the 2nd half. Does anyone know what his injury was/is and if he got re-injured yesterday?

He didn't play in the 2nd half, it was mainly Lovett and Sadowsky (Sadowsky didn't play in the 1st half)

Just listened to the cyfan podcast from last night. I think the Miami QBs goal was the set the NCAA career passing TD record then call it a night. Best explanation I can give. Chris wasn't watching at home but the broadcast mentioned it a few times early.

OK, thx. But did he get re-injured? And he was held out of our last what, 5-6 games, because of an injury. What was his injury?

That's what I'm curious about. Hope he is OK.

And also why these non-playoff bowl games will never go away. I believe yesterday was our second most watched game of the entire season.
This is why the whole "Bowl Games don't matter" argument is so ridiculous. Probably our only game with more viewers this year was the Big 12 championship. Many casual viewers will form an opinion on the program based on games like this.

Winning this game is also helpful for preseason rankings next year.
