Just find like 4 more conference wins and get into the tourney.

Finding the confidence to do that might be trickier than we can imagine right now. One weird game can turn a season on its head quickly.
exactly. Just flush the conference title talk out the window. get to the tournament is the new goal.

Inexcusable loss. The officiating 100% is the only reason the game got close. The refs were clearly loving it and could tell by how animated they were on their calls. But after about the 5 minute mark that was all on us. There were several possessions that all we needed to do was hold the ball for 30 second and take a shot clock violation and would've had a better chance of winning
How about they foul Grill, hits tech player face, and then goes off Grill, so Tech ball. How do you ignore the obvious foul?

we made zero adjustments against the change in refereeing. that's on us. if you're going to be picky, the end result was probably 80-20 Clones/refs.

They gave tech a free point for no reason in what ended up a tie game.

That phantom flop call is evidence they need to get rid of that rule. It’s just game fixing whether intentional or incompetent.

Let’s hope this serves as a reality check and causes the team to come out with some motivation for the KU game and the rest of the season. Have to look back on this game and make it on of those games you refuse to have again. Hope this sparks a change for the better

Here's the deal. The refs were really terrible. AND we let it affect us. Great teams don't let officials affect their game. We're good, just not great. Could not overcome that horrendous outing by the refs.

The inability to stop dribble drives in the last couple games is flat out alarming. Harmon absolutely owned Lipsey and Holmes is simply not quick enough. I appreciate the “aggressive” nature of our defense but it is absolutely allowing teams to mount these comebacks. Teams are in the bonus by the 13:00 minute mark of the 2H and now you have constant clock stoppage allowing teams to score at the line. Just an absolute meltdown on the offensive side of the floor. Tamin has to look to score. He cannot refuse to shoot a 15 foot jumper. He screws up the spacing. And this team simply didn’t look poised in the last 10 minutes. The shot selection by Grill in OT..not great. You can get better looks.
Team is in a deficit talent wise. They are playing the way need to to win. Teams are adjusting. Here comes the fade. Hope we can grind out a few more wins

We gassed out. Why playing the starters so long against a meaningless game Saturday hurt. This loss is on TJ.

You’re absolutely correct! We were beyond fatigued, and Tech knew it. One Tech player was dribbling between his legs like he was amped off an energy drink there and Holmes mouth was wide open and frozen. Just an embarrassing implode.

I'm sorry, all you "dont blame the refs" folks can **** right off.

The only way Tech got back in that game was being gifted points on almost every single possession of the second half. It wasn't until then we started to crack, because we couldnt play defense any more either.

Officiating in this league is corrupt. That was too awful to just be incompetence.
It's so freaking true. It's why I was still nervous when we were up 20 with 10 minutes left. It's why we all were. We are freaking Iowa State.
I have to say games with this team are agonizing and not that enjoyable.

This is not a game that a conference champion would lose which shows we still have a ways to go. Even Kansas on a bad night does not blow a 23 point lead to a winless conference foe.
Yeah its time to stop talking abt winning the conference. Its time to start talking abt getting to 11-7 and a decent seed in the ncaa.

I'm not sure why everyone is always a "one side only person on these boards". Look, both things can be true, and like most things in life, that's usually the case.

1. We **** the bed with our turnovers and horrendous offense in the final 10 minutes of regulation. TJ was terrible tonight when the going got tough.

BUT

2. That was some of the worst officiating I have seen in some time. I am never one to blame officials for losses barring extreme circumstances. But the way that game was called in the final 10 minutes of regulation was completely ridiculous and changed how both teams could play. Our defense basically couldn't do what it does once they got whistled every time Tech was on offense. And that's not how they called the first 30 minutes of that game. Not to mention that absolute ********* non-call at the end of regulation when Grill should have been shooting free throws where he "turned it over". The guy almost takes his wrist off swiping at the ball.

Out coached? How are you supposed to adjust to the refs calling you for a foul every possession the other team has for a 4 minute stretch? The refs lulled our guys to sleep with the whistles and tech ratcheted up the intensity. This was an awful, fabricated win for tech

It was helps when players pass the ball to the other team's players. Gotta help the refs out.

For all of th credit TJ deserves, these choke job road losses like this and OSU are on him. He’s so stubborn with personnel, we make no adjustments, and seem to always have lineups that don’t work offensively or defensively when they go on runs.

Absolute coaching malpractice to have Lipsey not take a seat for Holmes after turnover after turnover and to yet again have Jones out there in crunch time (with Lipsey) when we REALLY needed some offensive is so, so bad.
Bob did not cost us the game tonight. it was a poor decision for lipsey to try and pass him the ball. Bob did make 2 freethrows when needed
