Probably fair. I kept waiting for him to come back to earth but he just kept playing so well for so many games that I thought maybe something clicked.
Take the KU game … Gabe had 7 shots and 6 tonight. He’s playing within the system and that what the system is producing.

The 'they're missing players' thing has not been kind this year.
This team isn’t losing to Okie State at home or West Virginia. If TCU gets Miles back then I could see that being a really close game.

I'd say right now I'm pretty confident we beat WVU at home handily. That's the beauty of the round-robin schedule, and we seem to play 1,000x better at home than on the road

Maybe he knows more about basketball than you? Kidding. I have no idea. Don't even know how they calculate it.
Simple math and a reflection on a player's contribution. It is calculated by taking the difference in the score when the player enters the game and subtracting it from the score when the player exits the game.

Outside of the seasons with Tinsley/Fizer he was very mediocre. 3/5 seasons we finished 9th or worse in conference.
That’s an interesting way to frame his time here. The 1st was a complete rebuild as was Year 4. Year 2 & 3 were pretty damn special. Year 5 was the NIT with the following year a tournament team for Morgan. I mean we won 2 Big 12 regular season titles.

Larry had his demons, but psychopath? Arguably the best we’ve had in program history.

Yes. Psychopath.

And while he coached the best team ISU has ever had (mostly inherited from Floyd I believe), he wasn’t good for 2 out of 4 years and had one of the worst tournament flameouts ever. He is absolutely not the best coach in ISU history.

I loved those 2 years that Eustachy led us to, but needing to have a complete rebuild after winning the conference 2 years in a row was a huge red flag.

Don’t let the elite 8 blind you to the fact that he was batshit crazy.

Not a chance. It set Iowa State on the trajectory of losing to Hampton, Missouri house parties, Wayne Morgan and Greg McDermott. That’s a whole lot of suck. I’ll take what TJ has going over what Eustachy did any day.
Oh I’ll take TJ going to the elite 8. If you want to say that is batshit crazy, go for it.

I’m saying I’d take what TJ is doing now than to ever have to go through a LE situation again, even if it meant losing in the Elite 8.

Eh, Give me the elite 8. The chance of TJ duplicating LE situation is not a concern of mine. TJ is a winner.

Nothing we can do about it. I hope we beat West Virginia by 70 points at Hilton, and all the sissy-boys who feigned injury and/or protested calls against them foul out in the first half.
And Erik Stevenson can foul out twice! :p

Any coach at any time could have a 2 seed and lose to a 15 even if all's well and rosy.
