Ok, how in the world did the eleventh/twelfth ranked team who has only one nice win over a good team (41-17 over Penn State) and a bunch of wins against 1-11, 3-9, and 4-8 teams get a bid to play in the Sugar Bowl against LSU? They got hammered by Michigan and USC. There were only a couple of teams with decent records that Notre Dame beat. The rest were pansies. The overrated Fighting Irish do not deserve a BCS bid. :rolleyes5cz:

MONEY. Sorry, but if you had to sell tickets to a bowl game and you could select Notre Dame you would, financially speaking it is a solid selection. They have the biggest nation wide fan base.

It sure must be nice to not have to worry about some silly conference... Come on, though - Army, Navy, and Air Force? Those were some huge wins. :no6xn:

Unfortunately that's true. I personally despise Notre Dame, elitist bastages they are. I will never forgive them for being the only team good enough for NBC. It was pure horror watching some of those past teams. Carlyle Holiday, baby.

Don't forget 1-11 Stanford....:laugh8kb:

That's right!! I forgot about them!! :biggrin9gp:

I know it's all about money, but strength of schedule is supposed to count for something in the BCS bowls. If I go over to NCAA '07 and put in that schedule, I would guess it would give it, what, a C+?

is there a BCS jesus? or is the pope on the board? either way we should schedule cupcakes and erect a statue of moses on the south endzone. maybe then we could get some love.

ND will lose the game. They are like a Tier 2 BCS team. LSU and Bo Pelini defense will rev it up against them. LSU 31, Notre Dame 7.

Im glad their in; their my number 2 team. Wins get you into the BCS; quality wins get you in Floridas shoes, so theres a tradeoff.

Our point is that Notre Dame does not have the resume of a BCS team, and was only selected because most of the media are Notre Dame homers and Notre Dame has good fan support. Just like Iowa. Neither deserve the bowl they are in. Give me a playoff... :angry6wn:

i am a ND fan and feel they are overrated this year. They won't deserve the bowl they are in. If they Michigan and USC game would have been like last years USC v. ND game then I would have to disagree but with two losses in blowouts they shouldn't be in the Top 15

I know what your saying and I agree, they are overrated. I disagree on the playoff; every scenerio I've heard doesnt hold water. I would like to see fewer bowls, however.

Since Weis arrived in ND, I have rooted for them. But not this time...no way. It is ridiculous they are playing in a BCS game. Rutgers is more deserving than ND.

LSU has been on a roll lately and I hope to hell they beat the tar out of the Irish.

This is such a joke, and the exact reason why I hate the overrated Irish every year. Join a conference, quit playing the 3 military academies every year, and get back to me. Consistently the biggest joke in college football.

Oh thats true....Rutgers should probably be in there. I was about to say that there is just nobody else they can put in there since Auburn and Wiscy are disallowed due to the rule that no conference can have 3 teams.

Here's another rule that favors ND since they are not in a conference. Personally, I don't think ND would fare nearly as well if they had to play in a conference......anyone else notice how far Penn State's stock has dropped since they joined the Big 10?
