Fred just gets to deal with larger egos that make more money than he does...just a different type of stress. Seems like there are more college coaches that go pro then move back to college than the other way around if that tells us anything.

Monte's minutes won't be any different than if Nick were still here. Hallice will spell him.
All Fred had was DG when he got here, Scotty and Ejim were solid but a year or so away from being a real contributors. CSP will have Monte (unless he makes huge strides he's not pro ready yet IMO), Thomas, Cooke, Burton, Baab and Carter as well as being in contention for some solid recruits. At the very least, he has 4 or 5 guys who will have played p5 basketball and 6 or 7 schollies to hand out. Fred was starting from scratch with virtually no recruits having ISU on their radar. Let's not get carried away about having ONE less kid (at our deepest position) than we thought we'd have. The Greek was a total project, he showed nothing to make us think he would have been ready in a year or ever. Counting on him was going to a be stretch.
I think we'll see him spelled by Matt, Cooke and Burton. When you have another PG in your starting lineup, you can adjust your lineup as you like, you aren't forced to sub position for position. NN wasn't going to be playing PG regardless. The depth chart for PG is/was/should be 1. Monte 2. Georges 3. Let's hope we don't have to play w/o those 2.
Guess we will find out if Hoiberg's flash-in-the-pan success can continue after this year. The last couple of years of NBA rumors certainly had a big impact. Prohm is going to have his work cut out for him trying to build a sustainable recruiting base. It's going to take a couple of big classes or we are going back quickly to middling status.

He'll start when he's healthy,I was more thinking of the guys off of the bench. More or less I was saying it doesn't matter who spells him, we have Georges to be his backup.
Im just saying that Naz can play some PG if we need him to as well even though he is best off ball
Isn't Cooke a combo guard? I'm guessing if you're looking for guys off the bench to be a backup PG, Cooke would be it
This kind of makes go, ahh thats why we've been going after so many guards, specifically pg's. Something always seemed weird about how many offers we had out. Yes I know how ever remote the possibility Morris leaves early but it seemed like we've wanted two pg's for next year all along.
I guess this is the best result for everyone right now. It's better that this happens now instead of the start of the conference season or something.
This team is going to be hurting for depth. Real concern there is with injuries or foul trouble in some games. I'm sure some of the other teams will try to exploit it as much as possible.
Next year will be a step back, even if CP can pull in some major recruits. It's kind of a weird situation. Fred left the program in pretty good shape.......for this year. It is becoming pretty obvious that the whole NBA thing had a major effect on recruiting the last couple of years, and there is going to be some transitional pain for a season or two. Let's just hope CP can capitalize on this coming year's success.
