Cooke has some work to do and Thomas may or may not be a starter - good to have options, and with 8 scholarships over the next 16 months, you take NN and NWG. NN has great potential as a true PG replacement for MM and NWG has already proven to be a better and more consistent scorer than MT and possibly Cooke. Again, we have scholarships and openings for talent like this.

Agreed. I'm not saying we don't take Noskowiak or Williams-Goss, I'm just saying we can't assume they'll be starters over guys who have been in the program for 3+ years.

I absolutely wouldn't pass on NN or NWG. Would love to see them in a Cyclone uniform in 2016.

Sometimes we need to remember who we actually have on the roster first before we get all excited about who could potentially be joining the program.

Yes and no. If the staff is looking at a kid, they likely feel they can either fit him into the existing rotation or there will be turnover. If you only recruit to fill the one or two holes you know about, you never recruit to improve. NN and NWG would both get very good minutes at ISU, regardless of who we currently consider to be key players.

Three guard lineups galore! NN, NWG, and Cooke and Thomas would make a lot of sense in some combination.

I read somewhere that he doesn't possess elite athleticism and is a poor 3-point shooter. So even with the NBA potential, he might already recognize he needs a couple more years to work on his game before the NBA. Maybe he doesn't see himself developing adequately at Washington.

The only thing more important to Hoiball than not turning it over and shooting the 3 is shooting high % 2's.

Take NN over him? Are you kidding me? NWG is a STUD. McDonalds All American who is a proven player that can score and create his own shot. NN is a fine player, but hasn't proven anything at the D-1 level. NOTHING.

Getting NWG would be HUGE.

Why can't we get elite transfers? We've done it before, right?

We've mostly gotten guys with a little baggage or some stats that make you be a little more creative. Most of the guys we landed didn't have a lot of top 10-15 offers.

This NWG will be recruited by everyone, so it becomes a lot harder.

Ah, I see. Perhaps we need to all take a step back and re-assess our current situation. We could be really damn good next season. It's after that what makes me nervous. In Fred we Trust!
