I will repeat and add to what I said in post #5,970
49ers gold is too tan, cheap rattle can metallic tan gold. Needs more yellow-gold tone to it. More like our chrome gold logo etc. I have never been a fan of the tan shade golds. Our Gold is more true Yellow-Gold.
If we ever go back to a metallic or Chrome Gold I hope we stay with the shade of gold we have below, not that terrible metallic tan that the 49ers, Boston College, FSU, etc use.

If a 49ers-ish uniform ever did happen (which (A) I doubt; (B) I don't advocate), I'd hope it isn't this version, with the ugly drop-shadow numerals and white pants (esp with the black accenting).

You do realize, that the color you reference was what was available at the local hardware store in a spray can. That is the way helmets were painted back then at ISU. You can see how it wears off. They were painted before games.

I realize this, but I also am saying our current Metallic/Chrome gold is more yellow tone and has more true gold look to it than the tan/taupe looking golds that others use. If we wanted to stay similar our current chrome/metallic and also keep in line with our actual Yellow/gold that is not the metallic/chrome version, we would go with the shade of gold that has a more true gold look to it. That is more yellow tone, like what we already use and what we used here.
The tan gold looks terrible, it does not look gold, it looks tan. It looks like a grandma's 1984 Buick Cutlass Sierra.
ND has a better looking gold than San Fran, BC, FSU etc. and would be closer to what I am talking about, but ours might be just shade different.
This is not gold, it is tan, but it is called gold. This is San Fran, Boston College gold. And it sucks. I want Cyclone Gold. Not lame taupe, with metal glitter.
I just think this is a clean look. Seems we can get close. Brock never looked this good in an ISU uni.
How is CMC gonna feel about having to wear all that gold? (that is, if they do them right... )
Hey, I agree. Those are extremely basic jerseys that we could pull off something similar, just with the correct gold. Unfortunately our coach is adamant that we incorporate black into everything instead of our school colors.
By the way, the gold looks to be ball park with our pants from the 70s? Tom Randall era?
I thought I heard a while ago that the 49ers got our permission to use those colors? If so, those were our colors at some point.
