I was watching an old replay of an Iowa State/Iowa game last night. How times have changed?

Back then, the players wore the team colors, but not most of the fans.
Now, the fans wear the team colors, but the players don't.

Wacky world.

I wish there were small details of cardinal in the outline of the jersey. And these need to be worn on the road, not at home.
Agree. They weren’t bad and I like the trying something new, but I’d like to see how they’d look with a little lighter silver for the secondary color. Or go completely muted and use cardinal.

At the top of my nitpicking is going back to the old lighting.

For the record, I really like the grey uniforms from last night. I also got kind of a green tint while watching on TV. However, it really depended on the angle. I think it has something to do with how the TV cameras we gathering light in the camera lens.

Some angles the uniforms looked dark grey like the picture of Jackson in the hoodie earlier in this thread. The far away angles brought a slight green tint in.

That being said, the pictures the local media took of the players from court level made the uniforms look awesome and the in-person camera shots I've seen look great as well.

We do not and will not have to wear these very much this year, but I think it's cool to have a riders on the storm alternate to wear a couple times. To be honest, I really like all of the basketball uniform options this year. Looking good!

I liked the grey uniforms. I think it is good to mix it up once in a while. I will admit though that I turned the game on right at tip and was confused for a minute or two even though I knew we were wearing the greys.

I’m surprised they didn’t cap them off with the new ugly alternative logo. That would have been perfect

I have a nice 4k TV & HD cable...they looked green.
No, my colors are not off..everything else I've watched on it in the past 1+ years has had vivid colors that were accurately depicted.

As others have said, this was made worse by the fact that IL ST had uniforms that were basically the same as what our normal whites would be...making it really confusing for people.

Darker or lighter...Cyclones in Red or Yellow along with the numbers and we're in business if that's what we're really wanting.

Also, I'm sure part of it was that it was a low end production due to pre-season. Lack of multi camera angles and close ups.

Iowa State has always gone to the same basket in the first half and if by now you still can't recognize what our players look like when they aren't in white, cardinal or gold, then I think you have bigger things to worry about then what the uniforms look like.
Yes, I know they go to the same basket every first half. Those who attend the games all know. So how about dropping that one? You've used it several times now, and you've kind of worn it out.

As for recognizing our players - well, that kind of depends on whether you are watching them at home on high def or in person from the rafters. When they're in a scramble, and they all look to be two inches tall, it can be tough to differentiate them at times. :)

Not my favorite, but I would be fine seeing them a couple times a season. Fun change-up for the players from the usual white, cardinal, and gold.

I suspect you're right about that, at least in my case. Without snark, maybe you could explain it to me? :)

It’s a status symbol, it’s social media selling, it’s a reward for the program. Everyone wants to be a fashion critic and wants to argue about pantone. They should be talking about why we are getting love from Nike, how many potential recruits/young fans are seeing the tweets and posts on social that wouldn’t be if we were just wearing our regular kits, and talking about how there’s only one program in this state that has been making sweet 16’s and winning conference titles with the swoosh on their shirts and shoes.

So Nike is providing the alternative unis?
