Went to a game at Central Florida four years ago. Nice place, but it was over break and nobody was there. We sat in the third row court side.

So good seats will be available if we start there during Xmas break.

Most likely. We walked up and bought tickets three rows from the court on the side. Johnny is such a really nice guy too.

ISU fans know Cincy's arena because that was where isu wbb beat uconn and I was among the many to see it in person.
Pretty sure that was at the Cintas Center at Xavier. I was there too. Great comeback win at the end with the barrage of 3s! Stacey Freese, Megan Taylor, and Angie Welle iirc.

Nope it was at Cincy's arena, It was called the Shoemaker Center back then.

Cintas didn't even open till 2000 and UCONN ISU game was in 98

My bad. You are correct, got the 1999 and 2010 venues confused. Went to the practice at Xavier after we did a radio show at WVXU. Used to live in Cincinnati and went those times the ladies were there for the tournament.

Sorry if I came across as rude. I was just pretty confident in my answer even though my memory does come and go these days.

That bar where ISU held the pep rally was so overwhelmed. I got there a little early to grab a booth and there was a couple in there just grabbing a bite, by the time their meal arrived the bar was packed with Cyclones :). Staff was overwhelmed but they did the best they could our table tipped them hard for trying. Still one of my favorite Cyclone road trip memories.

The name "Fifth Third" makes me irrationally mad lol. Is that a bank or something?

Coincidentally the arena looks like a bank from the outside.

Ha ha ... we just had this conversation the other night when we drove by one of their branches. My middle schooler was especially perturbed they wouldn't just call it 1 and 2/3.

So I looked it up. Around 1910, Fifth National Bank and Third National Bank merged creating "Fifth-Third Bank"

Why so small for Baylor? Have they had trouble filling arenas?

I was a bit surprised that their new arena has actually 3,000 fewer seats than their existing facility - seating only 7,500. It still cost more than $200 million.

I believe Baylor's arena is the ugliest basketball facility I have ever seen. So ugly is hurts one's eyes.
