I see quotes like that and it makes me sick, We might as well redshirt the whole team. I'm as happy as anyone else about getting Babb, White, and Allen, but shouldn't we at least give the seniors some help so that we can win this year. I dont want to wait til 2011 I want to be competitive now, but I guess all of you guys can just sit on your hands and wait 18 months to see us possibly win, I will be curious to see how evryone is doing this winter when Kansas and K-state are beating us by 20 on our home court, I sure hope Fred can coach us up.
We're throwing in the towel in 2010 because we have transfers becoming eligible in 2011? Hahaha.
Does that mean Creighton and every other NCAABB program is throwing in the 2011 recruiting towel because they're recruiting kids from the 2012 class? I don't see the correlation at all, that's such a stupid comment from Perrault.

I don't see this as throwing in the towel. I think a lot of people underestimate how much it's going to benefit this team to practice against quality, proven major conference D-1 players everyday in practice. In the last few years we have really lacked quality depth, and going up against guys in practice who are not B12 level talent really hinders player development. Having a practice squad who can really push the current players will really pay off as the year goes on.
I certainly don't mean we are giving up on the team. I mean that everyone focuses on getting better...experience and skills. Realistically, as a fan, I know we likely won't be world-beaters. As a player, I wouldn't concede anything, though.
All I am trying to get across is I hope the closer the season gets the more we concentrate on the players we have on the floor and not players on the practice squad
I think we will. We will hear reports of how players are performing in practice, but we'll get to see for ourselves how the eligible guys are playing/improving. I love that, even when the team isn't very good.
I dont want to come off as a negative Nancy, I am extremely happy with the news for 2011, I just hope at least we get White so maybe we can make some noise this year

I hate to be negative because I am all for Fred, but who knows what the attitudes of the guys are like? Usually when they transfer it is just the coach that the players don't like, but the players have some issue too. A lot of these guys have that. Do we really know if they are being positive and will have good attitudes and play hard when the 2010 and 2011 seasons roll around. I hope so.
I wasn't impressed with the body language and fight our players showed in the Cap. city league. I don't care if it is just summer ball. Show some pride when you are getting dominated.
I hope and I think Fred will be a Chemistry guy. I can't wait to watch and learn how he does it!

I think we have mixture of very mature experienced players along with young fresh players. We are going to have good season. People who thinks we are throwing a towel by signing these transfers can suck it.

Edited. Not that 2010-11 can't be a fun season to watch the guys grow and mature, but I don't think the season will be "special". Then again, I don't know your definition of special.
