Nest Hello Doorbell

From perusing the web it sounds like it is almost a must to pay for the subscription service that increases the functionality of this device. I am OK with that. For those who use the Nest Hello Doorbell, how would you rate the more expensive tier of the subscription plan vs the less expensive tier? Is it worth the extra money?

I use the Nest Aware Plan and have 3 cameras tied to it, including one Nest Hello(or whatever it was called) I've never had any kind of urge to keep things for more than 30 days and in reality if they offered a 7 day plan, I'd probably choose that. The biggest benefit for the outside cameras is zones. If you look at my outside camera, I can have it just look at my driveway and nothing else. It can then alert on things like sounds, people, or objects. So if it sees a person it can alert my phone, email, etc.
On a side note, I like that the Nest displays on my smart display when someone rings the front doorbell. I also like that all my cameras show up in one place.

Not sure what all you are needing as far as services/capabilities. Eufy is awesome and it has free storage.

Zones work better for other cameras but here is a zone I put on the door. So it only tracks movement in the orange.

Never heard of it...don't really need that much from this device (it was gifted to me)...but I do like the idea of having it.

That is cool...I am not sure how much use I will get from this but it was gifted to me and I think it would be cool to have. That said...outside of UPS/Amazon guy...our doorbell gets rung about once a month at most!

I find the Nest Aware plan to be more than enough to meet our needs for a single doorbell. I first thought that not having continuous recording was a rip, but I realized that there's a bit of a workaround to this.

If my timeline has a clip recorded because a car pulled in my driveway, I can pull that up and watch it and after the clip is over (it says how long the clip is) it just keeps playing. It's the not the same as before when you could just scroll through the timeline, but at least it's not hard-cutting the clips. I'm pretty happy with it overall -- particularly when paired with the thermostat.

Same here, except this month there have been a ton of people coming to replace roofs damaged by hail.

I'm too ashamed to share it but I've got a great clip of me tripping over my own feet coming out the door, tumbling my fat @$$ to the ground and limping away off camera. To my family, that was worth the money alone.

We recently got one as a gift, and I am using just the free plan at the moment and I think it does the trick for what we need.

Our front door is set up so we can get awide view of the front lawn, driveway and stoop, it's visible for people who are approaching and has the green "recording" light on whenver it captures a person,movement or sound.

It doesn't record fully, or save specific occurences in full, but it does grab screenshots of a person who may be there, and you can save those photos if ever needed. You can also watch live and talk to a person at the door if need be.

Imo, just the sight of one of these gives people some pause, and they obviously can't tell if a person has the premium package, so it gets the job done for what we wanted, without paying any more.

I have the Aware plan. I can't say I've actually needed more than that. The most it's gotten used for after the fact was a request from the police department to see if the camera had seen the motion of a certain vehicle at a certain time.

I had/have nest and LOVE it. I personally have not felt a need to save videos more than 30 days, so I have the cheaper plan.

I did just switch my security cameras to Blink, only because we just repainted our house and Mrs. ruxCYtable didn't want power cords running all over the new paint job. But I still have the Nest doorbell and it's great. In fact, I just got a new Google Chromecast and learned that it automatically pauses when someone rings the doorbell. What a world we live in!

My only beef with my nest cams are the stupid plugs. Makes for a bigger drill hole. Poor design in that regard
