Dumb question that I have probably asked before. Why 33 entrants? Just drop an at large and have 32. Nonsensical?

Evan - results/health at big 12s is a concern. Would have considered Evan an AA lock but it ain’t gonna be easy.
Jacob - Tough spot to land if he makes it through the opener. Frost boys, zero quit.
Paniro - definitely the beneficiary of a great big 12. Love his road but I’ve seen this before. Hoping he comes out on fire Thursday.
Chittum - rough big 12 and paid the price. After last year, sure he’s hoping to get right. KT vibes if this tourney isn’t good. LFG Cody
Riggins - capable of winning some matches. Expect to be on the back right away. Good to see him turn this season into a positive.
MJ - tough kid, great big 12, positioned in his bracket as well as any ISU wrestler. Cali love make some noise.
Bockman - Expect to see Bockman in blood round.
Herrera - Get the experience this year, win a couple. An opening round win might be my favorite ISU upset ever.

Based off of a lot of these seeds, the committee really isn't making a great case to wrestle during the regular season. Wrestle just enough to set yourself up at conference and put all your marbles on that weekend. Continuing to put ALL emphasis on two weekends in March

Man they really punished Evan for a bad weekend. If you would've told me a week ago that he'd be seeded below Jacob and Paniro, I would've questioned your knowledge. Hope he can get healthy and raise some hell. Lots of early round underdogs for us.
11 seems really low. Really low.

IMO that is still nuts. It’s not like he doesn’t have a track record. 7 guys are better than him? No way.
I don’t know exactly how it works but from what I understand there are certain criteria they use and previous years performances aren’t part of that. But there also seems to be some wiggle room at times for them so I’m not sure.

They have started to put a lot more emphasis on the qualifying tournament. The top end wrestlers and their coaches forced this to happen. All the defaulting out of qualifying tournaments and not getting getting a loss against them and still getting their great seed has lead us to this other extreme.
