Looks like half the teams haven't even begun their first round, but I'll take it!

Go State!

It is very early. They had a 5+ hour rain delay earlier today, got the players back on the course and played a few holes before they went into another delay. If the weather is decent tomorrow it is going to be a really long day for these guys.

Not bad for what I believe was their first ever appearance in the Finals.

Slim chance anyone is under par at the end of this tournament, unless the rain continues all week. That course can get hard and fast, so the scores should shoot way up from where they are.

And a nice article on the WBB team's NCAA appearance from Golf Week. Getting some nice press for our two teams.

Also from ISU:

Junior Chonlada Chayanun had a coming out party at the national tournament. Chayanun posted a 72 this morning to finish in a tie for seventh at 282. Her top-10 finish automatically earns her spot on the WGCA Honorable Mention All-America team. It marks the first time a Cyclone earned All-America honors under the NCAA banner (Barb Thomas was an AIAW All-American in 1980).

In 1st place. Still very very early. At -6 thru holes 8-11

Even being in the Top 10 after the first round would be kind of a big deal when you look at the 30 teams and only ISU and Illinois are northern.

How about a little flurry of birdies on these last couple of first round holes!

At one point we were -9 as a team, we have dropped to -3 under and the 17th hole par 5 I think is averaging over par looking at the teams that have finished.

In 7th with half of the schools finished for the 1st round. Nice 68 by Collin Foster who is our lone Iowan playing today. Guys are really stepping up since they are playing without freshman Nick Voke who broke his collarbone in a skateboard accident in Ames. Seriously, dude, a skateboard! A 71 for freshman Jack Carter who would regularly be the 6th guy and not playing today but played like a #3 or #4.

Go Cyclones!

Is there a website that has up to date scoring?

Iowa State is finished for the day and is currently tied for 7th. Not sure if teams will start the 2nd round today or not, but it looks like it is possible for Iowa State to finish round 1 in the top 10 or near it. Pretty cool!

I would definitely consider Mizzou a northern team as well. But your point is well taken. Great to see northern teams up.

Well ****, if I am reading this right we are screwed and won't tee off till tomorrow and probably play 36. The top seeded teams are going again today but we are not going till 10:00 tomorrow off of #10 with Purdue and Georgia State even though we are in 8th place. We need a top 10 finish to make the finals which are match play.

Depends on weather also. Could be an advantage to play more tomorrow and earlier in the day before greens harden (no idea about weather/conditions though).
