Nader's threes

Outside of one, nobody said he shouldn't play. He's one of the best we have at getting to the hoop and is a solid defender and rebounder. I'm glad he hit that three, but I still stand by my statement that I want him driving to the hoop and not shooting threes. That one drive from the 3 point line where he dunked and made the Kansas defender look silly was an absolute thing of beauty. I want to see him doing that 80 percent of the time instead of shooting threes 40 percent!

I know that, but you have to understand how some posters overreact to CF threads and just go with the flow.

Nader is still chucking up threes almost a year after this post!

Recap: Nader shot 27 percent from 3 at Northern Illinois. He shot 22 percent as a junior, and is shooting 26 percent through 16 games as a senior. He is one of the few players who plays with too much confidence.

This bump really stings. I was one of those people defending Nader despite his history, thinking Fred would make him better with what he had done with other sub par shooters. But, now I can't stand whenever he fires up a three.

The guy really does not have terrible form on his shot, he just doesn't put them in and needs to stop shooting.

He's kind of like that guy that you work with that is not too good at their job, and is oblivious to that fact.

If he can just cut down on the 3s, and stop driving to the hoop when it is 1 on 4, he can be effective. If not, it will be addition by subtraction when he graduates.

If he stops shooting them, it literally kills the spacing and flow of the offense. How are people missing this key point since Naz went out!? He simply HAS to keep shooting them and frankly, has to keep working to get better. He needs to improve his shooting, not stop shooting.

I assume this is a joke. Otherwise it is completely baffling to me.

It's not killing the spacing. There is a reason why Nader is getting open threes. Teams aren't rotating over to him with urgency because they aren't worried about him hitting. If you want somebody out there to just fire when their open you may as well put McKay out there, I here he worked on the threes over the offseason.

Working to get better and improving would be great, but it hasn't happened yet will it ever?

I agree with the spacing concept, but when people are sagging off you, you are not spreading out the defense. I don't think he should quit shooting them, but I do think it should only be 1 or 2 a game.

I think he's gotta cut them down because I think shooting 25% from 3 will also kill your offense. I don't want Nader to stop shooting them, but I would prefer he not take them in the early shot clock when they have time to run different things to get better shots for better players.

Georges has taken 286 shots so far this year, and Nader has taken 213. I would rather see Georges at 320 and Nader at 180. Nader would still be enough of a threat to require the defense to guard him, but it would just help our overall offense. I don't think is any reason for Georges not to take more shots -- he can almost get a good shot at will right now.

Early in the game Nader and Matt were on the arc next to each other. Nader could have passed to Matt who wanted the ball but Nader being the ball hog he is just took the shot. Its stupidity, and selfishness, like that, that hurts this team. He doesn't seem like he is gonna change his bad habits either. He's gotta try an get his even if it hurts the team.
