He really seems to step up when the team needs him most. Love that quality in a player.
I agree. Yet another leader type. It's almost as if Fred does that on purpose!

The difference maker is anyone of those seven can play long meaningful minutes. Our bench is pretty thin, but we basically have 7 starters. It's definitely a nice problem to have, especially when it's a different guy every game that's coming up with the big shots.
with the muggings that Mckay had to put up with under the hoop, we were owed a few no calls.

Not saying Matt Thomas is an all-american or anything, but he's had his games too. We don't beat Okie State without Matt Thomas. Our bench is pretty thin, but we basically have 7 starters. I'm with everyone on him being a difference maker as long as he doesn't do that thing where he drives the baseline and jumps right about under the hoop to pass with no clear idea it seems of where he's going to pass it to. Just a terrible idea as there are usually a LOT of bodies around there and he's one "big guy bump" from being pushed out of bounds.
When he beasts we win
He has been a more efficient player since khal coached him up. Time for khal to do his part and write about some of our other bench guys.Everything I'd heard about him before the season that worried me (bad shot selection, doesn't play defense) has been non-existent. He tore apart Iowa, helped us beat OkState, made the clutch free throws to beat West Virginia, and now made a bunch of huge plays tonight. He just does everything well and shows no signs of nerves in big situations.
He finished the game; don't think BDJ was in for the final minutes. Will Nader eventually earn a start?
