We have 9 returning starters from last season, one who happened to be the QB with 3 total games played. There weren't a lot of other guys coming back with game experience either. Less than a month ago, these same guys *beat* Texas. That screwjob did more to mess with their psyches than the coaches would ever let onto. Add in a completely unstable OL, an injured QB and RB and it is easy to see why the last 3 games have been so lopsided.
We are young. We are inexperienced. Next year will be better.
And finally, screw squawk fans. Less than a year ago, they wanted their entire coaching staff fired. I can't wait to see how their defense performs after they lose 3 senior linebackers next year. It'll be back to the same old squawks.

I never listen to that Hok drivel, but for all of their superiority, didn't they just beat us by a score? Maybe they should wonder about that margin.

What I can never get over is how Iowa Staters ... Who have never lived outside the state of Iowa think Murph and the pro Iowa commentators are "right on" with their "takes." I really feel sorry for a sizeable chunk of our fanbase. They just can't see or hear the obvious.
They think getting $ hit and shoved in it is just fine. ISU will never change the culture of this state ... Our home stationed fans are just too far gone. Reading comments in this thread just prove the point.
Chill out. Last year Iowa fans claimed youth for their losses and Murph and Andy said that wasn't true either at that time.
For all of you Murph lovers out there... For a guy who claims "not to be a fan" ... He seems to have a remarkable number of stories about watching some particular Iowa football game a Kinnick. Versus "crickets" at Trice.

I don't even listen to this junk, but I don't see how people get this upset. Our team is bad this year. If they call a bad team a bad team, isn't that like their job? Are they supposed to tell us that a 1-6 team really isn't that bad? 1-6 says that we pretty much are exactly that bad.
Exactly. I normally like the show and listen to it a lot. But we're having a crappy year and they are not homers, so I don't listen to it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that they'll probably say something you'll disagree with.
Got me. I like them and listen everyday for the most part but I don't get upset. They for the most part call a spade a spade. Neither of them are hawk/clone haters if you listen objectively but people will want to hear what they want to hear.
Same old? You mean they will go back to one losing season every 14 years, with a couple conference championships, some BCS games, a BCS game win, and 4 or so Top Ten rankings?
I really hope they do get back to the same old Hawkeyes.
