I wonder if the 100 level ass kickers are still the same? Zoology and econ 101. I always the thought econ was pretty basic.

Yeah. Econ 101 and 102 were supposed to be classes to “lighten” the load. Gotta imagine a lot of these had high percentages just because there weren’t a lot of students taking them. Then if just a couple students drop they have a high percentage. The 100 level classes had enough people taking them that it would take a lot of drops to make the list.

I dropped Econ 101 back in the 80's. I had a Grad student (TA???) and had no idea what they were talking about. Took it the next semester with a regular professor and got an A.

I learned nothing from engineering statistics. As I recall, there were two versions of that class that qualified, one a 200 level and another that was a 300 level. I was told to take the 300 level because I wanted to go to grad school.

Instructor was like 70 years old and used the same example for the entire class. I think his name was Kennedy? All I remember is “thrust face runout.”

Exams were open book, open note, open laptop. Couldn’t tell you a single concept I took away in that course. I literally remember nothing from the content.

I only ever dropped one class, and that was some history class my sophomore year. I don't remember the course number, but the professor came across as a real condescending a-hole and the syllabus read like a novel. I barely made it through the first class. If he wanted to weed people out right away, he succeeded greatly. Tons of people were talking about dropping it on the way out.

I'm surprised the 200-level Physics for Engineers isn't on here. That was always the weed-out.

BBMB 3160 is the only class I truly struggled with in college. That class was dumb.

I dropped Math 151 as I was getting an F. Could not understand the foreign TA or teacher. Took it the next semester with the head of the math department and an english speaking TA. Ended up with an A.

There were a bunch of people with wildly different experiences with Math 150 and 151 during my time. Professors absolutely mattered.

I get jealous of people that remember their course number and professors. I need to request for a transcript sometime so I can look at what classes I took what years.

The only professors' names I recall off the top of my head were Fred Choobineh and Dudley Luckett (RIP).

Personal story, of which few will care: I dropped only two courses while at ISU, and both were in the same semester.

Partly realized I had "overloaded" my schedule a bit with the # of classes (not necessarily the difficulty of the courses). One I got too far behind and wasn't confident I'd be able to recalibrate. The other, I was doing poorly and completely lost.

I knew guy (may have had a substance abuse issue) who rode his bike into Carver 15 minutes late for math 150 and down those steps of the main auditorium. Set his bike against a chair in the front row and sat down and got his note book out and "ready to learn". The professor thought it was one of the funniest damned things he'd ever seen. I'm fair sure that kid passed simply based on this incident alone.
