It's funny how that impressive win at K State made me even more angry (if that's even possible) about the loss at home to TCU. Kind of like when you have a really smart child bring home an A on their algebra final after they flagged their midterm.

Just makes you want to smack em.

So many things could happen over the next two-three weeks that I refuse to care about the conference title right now.

Fun to see them in the mix though with a group that still might have its best ahead.

The way I see it, the longer we stay in contention for it, the better it is for our tournament seeding. I'm way more concerned about that at this point, though if we have a path with two or three games to go, I will start getting nervous about it.

Yeah pretty calm cool collected now but if ISU's up a 1/2 game going into that first week of March I'll be a mess, haha.

"Since mid-December though, my mind has been on a regular season Big 12 championship."

Since we just got trucked at Iowa?

I'd say mid-January (after the pounding of KU) where that came into the conversation for me.
Early January- Not only the pounding of KU, but KU losing Doke. After that, there wasn’t a Big 12 team with a better ceiling. That didn’t mean we had lots of room for error (TCU or KSU home losses?), but we’d have a good chance.

In hindsight, this KSU team is more talented and balanced than I thought, with a good home court advantage. They should win it, but hopefully we can steal it in the last 6 games.

It's setting up to be a sprint to the finish if ISU can handle Baylor tomorrow. It could really get chaotic if K State was to stub their toe tonight, but I don't think WVU has the horses. Even at home with KSU on a short turnaround, long road trip, and maybe without Dean Wade

K-State is the second luckiest P5 team in the country according to KenPom... Iowa is first. Purple Kansas has caught a lot of breaks.

They have injuries now as well with Wade probably missing at least one game and another out for a month, so not a sure thing them winning the conference. ISU has had its share of injuries, especially losing Solo for the season, and losing some games early on while Wigg and Lard were getting back to form. KU and other conference teams have also lost players to injury, so part of the equation.

Some of that is inherent to the way they play imo, but all the more reason why they should win it imo. Luck is always a factor, in the form of beneficial prejudice in KU’s case.

Hopefully we can overcome some earlier bad luck and steal it.

K-State got to play in Hilton over break with no students. That is a HUGE break.

K- State got to play @Baylor with the bears missing three players.

WV absolutely **** themselves @ K-State

K-State caught Kansas at at the end of a really tough stretch of games.

I can’t see anyway that a 13-5 or 14-4 Big 12 champ named Kansas, Texas Tech or Iowa State isn’t getting a 3 seed with a chance at a #2 with a Big 12 Tourney title. If Iowa State is 27-7 after the Big 12 tourney they will have #2 seed in Des Moines.

This stuff isn’t the luck I’m referring to, not measured in KenPom’s luck ratings, which some teams are just built to be “luckier” than others imo.

I get we’re trying to just disparage our competition regardless of validity, but come on man, the last two you listed are ********.

-K-State has had their best player battling injury for part of the schedule.
-They had to play an ISU team coming off 1 game in 12 days, while they had 3 or 4 in nearly that time frame
-Injuries to their 6th man

The 1 and 2 seeds are dang near etched in stone at this point. They have created quite a bit of separation between the 3's.
