Mountain Lion? Use to do a fair amount of raccoon hunting with dogs way back in the late 00's early 10's. Running the Boone River one night and just felt something weird. That real eerie feeling that makes you skin kind of crawl. Game camera ended showing a mountain lion.

Maybe. Wouldn't surprise me. Whatever it was was in a sense at least stalking men and the dog and he didn't like it. When we sped up, it sped up. When we slowed or turned, it turned and slowed, I couldn't see thru the rain but it sounded like it essentially stayed roughly the same sound away from us for about 10-15 minutes. I was very happy to make the clearing.

Dog would turn around and snort then growl and bark a few times. Part of me wanted to take him off the harness and let him go and follow him but also, part of me didn't really want to know. So I just kept him with me and kept walking.

Yep exactly how it felt that night. I think I was maybe 30 minutes into cutting the dogs loose. Now these were Grand Nite Champ hounds and once they got on a scent trail they were locked on it until the trash panda is treed or held up somewhere. Anyways they just let out a very abnormal bark (not their normal hound sounds) start walking to them them dogs are just standing in a little clearing in the timber barking into the tree line. Thought that's weird so leashed them and started walking back to the truck. That's when that weird feeling started, dogs were pulling like they wanted to run away, just a very unpleasant sense of where we were.

Yep. Shiloh is about 65-70 part Shepherd part lab and a little bit of terrier so he's not quite as tall but he's about 6o pounds of muscle. He would turn around, snort, plant his feet in the ground and just go rigid with a really low, deep growl coming up through his body.

And he refused to go that way. He's been in a fight with a loose adult pit and mixed it up play fighting with Rottweiler's so he's not a timid guy. He's a sweetheart and a creampuff around people he knows but he's incredibly protective.

So I turned around and I just let him lead us down the paths etc he felt good going down. Then he'd turn, stop, and snort and growl for a few minutes. Always letting me know that whatever it was was still back there even if I could hear it also

Yeah... there's something . And even without the weirdness - what are the odds that gravity is set roughly to just the right amount? Or everything that allows life to exist on Earth just happened? I've no problems with some concepts of evolution but overall - I don't know that I believe all of the coincy dinks would have lined up perfectly so many times for there not to be some kind of something in the universe and some kind something to more than life

Seriously? Never seen it lol. I actually hadn't thought of it much until shortly after my mom died. I was guestioning my faith and everything.

And Young Sheldon was on and his mom was doing the same and he mentioned that about gravity and everything and then asked her what the odds were that she would be the perfect mom for him...

which is exactly how I felt about mine and then I just started thinking more and more about all of the little pieces of the universe that fit together to make life on the planet possible and what it is, the good and the bad. And I'm not a numbers expert but I understand the odds of all of that working out just so...

and then you add everything else and that's why I am certain that there's something. What exactly? No real clue. But something.

My mom tells of some strange things she saw living on the farm. One that she said still creeps her out is when she was up with one of us kids, when we were babies, and she saw bright lights shine in the east house windows. The farm house sat on the west side of the road that ran north/south. She first thought it was a car driving down the road, but then realized it couldn't be a car because the lights were shining directly into the east windows. She grabbed the kid and locked herself in a bedroom.

I could see this being creepy though.
