I hate naming rights on anything as it ruins tradition but it also shows that your program is on the rise when you can draw big money corporate sponsorship. It's still Jack Trice Stadium no matter how much they pump the advertising for naming the field. I'd be more pissed to see Mid American Stadium replacing this:

I was disappointed to see that they have bolted signage up on the outer edge of the upper deck. Whatever happened to the days when a company wanted to donate to the school and just purchased a full page ad in the program? I'd love to see some tighter renderings for the NEZ remodel, would like to see a large statue of Jack Trice in the plaza, but they will probably put up some energy-related cartoon mascot instead.

I highly doubt that would happen.

You sound exactly like your avatar looks.

I have no problem with the signage on the corners and I don't have a problem with the words on the back of the scoreboard. I just feel like the words "Jack Trice Stadium" should always be the more prominent part of any signage. For example on the back of the SEZ there is Sukup signage but it is dwarfed by the words "Iowa State University".

Unless the two outside edges are big pictures of Jack Trice, I think ⁦ISU⁩ may have went a little far with the sponsorship.

Open letter to Mid American Energy

Others before you gave money freely, without huge banners that say, “Hey, Look at me. Look how much money I have. Look how important I am.”

What ever happened to being a Class Act Sponsor? THIS stinks.

Man all the history and glory of the back of our scoreboard just thrown out the window for some corporate sponsors. Jonas did the same thing in Twister, and he's a son of a *****.

Not sure what the point of all the signage. Consumers do not choose their electricity provider.

Hmm, I would think that the location of the maintenance road would have been part of the easement / lease agreement that the property owner would have signed (genuinely curious, not trying to start anything)?

It's one thing if the road is supposed to be 20' wide and go around the edge and they made it 40' wide and went straight through the middle. If the agreement was for a direct route, I'm not quite understanding the issue?

It's an interesting subject that I have to deal with in construction. I've got a friend who did a powerline job in Utah where they had to have the local sheriff with them when working with them in one area because the landowners kept causing major issues (even after they had already signed a fairly hefty compensation deal).

Several years ago, I was shot at when doing R/W work. Not even on the person's property, still on the road. Fired a gun at us, yelling get off my property. We decided it was a good idea to leave. Came back with the sheriff to smooth things out. He still yelled at the whole time. Fun guy.
