Wasn't the 4 years actually a clerical error by the NCAA but they said since they had certified him for it they weren't going to reduce it?
Not sure, but he'll be 21 before the season begins and if he has aspirations of making it to the NBA, he'll want to get there as quickly as possible. That said, it sounds like he's at least a few years away from any realistic thoughts of playing at the next level.

Regardless, I love the fact that he'll be a grown man playing against people younger than him.

4 years of eligibility is great news

We've come a long ways since Staiger got suspended a full season because a guy he knew got 500 bucks once without him knowing about it around the same time the NCAA let Cam Newton's dad take a quarter of a million...because he didn't know about it.

The current "ljust et everybody get paid" is actually more fair in so many ways.

Saw he measured at 6’11’ when he arrived. Nice!
This kid appears to be highly skilled , right now. If he's nearly 21, and now about 6-11, with his handle and athleticism, look out. He might surprise and play a fair amount this year, even though new to the system. Buchannon and Mulder are also new to the system and only have about a 2 week head start on Pleta.

Regardless if he plays or not this year, Pleta looks like he will be a very nice player for us next year. I hope we can keep him.
