It took longer than expected but Iowa State‘s 2025-26 Men’s Basketball roster is all on campus for summer workouts as German freshman forward Dominykas Pleta arrived in Ames this week.

Pleta had his Visa approved but weeks ago but was delayed in being able to pick it up. At last week’s media availability, T.J. Otzelberger had this to say about Pleta’s status.

“There’s not an exact day (he will be here.) I wish it was 10 days ago but as soon as he’s able to get his Visa he will be here and we’ll get him integrated in our process,” Otzelberger said.”

The 20-year old spent the last year playing professionally in Germany’s top professional league for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. He’s also played in the third best German league for Porsche Ludwigsburg, averaging 19.1 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

The 6’11 forward also played for his home country in the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket and averaged 9.6 and 3.7 rebounds per game for Germany.

Despite his age, Pleta has four years of NCAA eligibility. He joins the freshmen class of Jamarion Batemon, Killyan Toure and Xzavion Mitchell.
