Well thankfully some people are more responsible than you and deal with the problems they have rather than just get rid of it. When you get a dog you are responsible for it. Getting rid of it because it chews up some things is a complete cop-out.

You've got a dog, you've got a responsibility. You can't just put up some sings and go home. You get your *** out there and you find that Fing Dog.

Spoiler alert: Jen gets naked, but you don't get to see anything.

I have a VIVID imagination, though....

BTW, I loved the movie. I thought the scene with the ultrasound was easily the toughest part of the movie, though. As a farm kid, I know what happens when dogs get old, and that didn't bother nearly as much as the ultrasound....

Yep, my wife and I went through that a couple times. The movie all around really hit home. It was different to see Owen Wilson having a more serious type role. Alan Arkin as always was fantastic in the movie. It will be a sad day when he passes.

So letting your dog run all over the place, terrify other people, chew up your furniture, ruin OTHERS personal belongings shows responsibility?!?! Didn't think so

If my dog cost me thousands and thousands of dollars b/c it ate everything, I would try and train it not to. If it still did it, than yes I would get rid of it. If you think it is a cop-out, so be in it. I just am not one of those people who views a dog as a person

I beg to differ. There's about 1.3 seconds of out-of-focus side boob.

Being responsible is not allowing your dog to run all over the place, terrify people, chew up things or ruin others personal belongings.

I'd shoot Marley myself if he did that to Anniston!

Well no kidding! But if you watch the movie, they are either not responsible, or the dog is just a really really bad dog. That's why I had trouble getting sad at the end.

Once again, I think the more responsible thing to do is to realize that it is a dog, not a person. Once you realize that you can start looking at it objectively. Should I keep a dog that people are terrified of? That has had me go through 5 couches? That I can't take out in public?

Basically if I had a dog as bad as the make Marley look in that movie, I would not keep the dog. I have MORE RESPONSIBLE things to do with my money like pay my mortgage, save for my kids college, and save for retirement. Than to be wasting money buying new things after the dog has ripped it apart

Good enough for me. Now I can avoid having to go see that crap. I mean, has there EVER been a good dog movie other than Cujo? MAYBE Old Yeller, but movies like Beethovan, K9 and Turner and Hooch were terrible. Same old stupid dog gags about slobber and chewing stuff up. But the dog lovers out there eat that stuff up. The only positive thing about Marley is that Aniston is hot. But I'd rather watch Friends reruns that see a big mutt running around slobbering for two hours.

Dog people amaze me. I can't even comprehend why you'd pay $1,000+ for a dog surgery or dog blood transfusion. I'd just take it out back, Old Yeller it and go get a new one.

Wow! While I too would have a hard time paying 1,000 for surgery, I don't know if I would have worded it the same way.

By the way, I always liked Homeward Bound
