The espn bracket now shows us with a sweet 16 matchup against Auburn. Sweet 16 is looking like TJs legacy.
Still betting on a 3 if the committee has any consistency whatsoever. We're clearly better than the other options when you take into account the key missed starts throughout the last month.Still a 3 on http://www.bracketmatrix.com/
Kentucky is the one that would anger me. The rest it’s pretty close. But I don’t get the Kentucky loveI don’t get Kentucky as a 3. They’re so mid
If you assume we won't have Momcilovic and won't have Gilbert.I despise the Luardi pimping by ESPN during Dec/Jan. So don't pay any attention and mute TV when he's on. Why some fans get so focused on seeding, amazes me.
Putting ISU at a 4 seed is probably right. And it wouldn't have been surprised by a 5 seed depending how the committee seeded Clemson & Memphis.
The Clones finished 5th in the Big12 regular season. And we lost twice in the season to the Big12 4th place team BYU. So we should be 5th in the Big12 pecking order.
I would expect these schools to be seeded higher than ISU:
The other reality is we were bascially a .500 team the last couple months. So it's not like we had a strong finish to push for a 3 seed.
- Big 12 (4): Houston, TT, Arizona, BYU
- SEC (4): Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama
- Big 10 (4): MSU, Michigan, Maryland & Wisconsin (good Tournament)
- ACC (2): Duke & Louisville
- Big East (1): St Johns
That's not really how it works. The Clones finished 5th in the Big12 regular season. And we lost twice in the season to the Big12 4th place team BYU. So we should be 5th in the Big12 pecking order.
But I think we are talking two different filters by the Selection Committee. Last year the complaint was we didn't get a 1 seed. But it was pretty clear the Committee's pecking order was:It’s a bit ironic that winning the Big 12 tourney last year didn’t help us at all but whatever…
That's not really how it works.
Sure they will. In fact, they will give Iowa State's committee consideration to UNC so the Tar Holes can get into the tournament.Duh. You think isu or big 12 is going to get committee benefit if doubt?
Correct, can't play there. Is Kentucky not allowed to play in Lexington?
Yes, conference season matters but we also have unbalanced schedules now. We should be ahead of BYU and Arizona both based on overall body of work and taking injuries into account. How do you know. The selection committee does emphasize the Conference season. Just look at what happened last year in the committee prioritizing the top seeds.
While the committee will move with the wind, there is no such thing as a conference game to the committee. How do you know. The selection committee does emphasize the Conference season. Just look at what happened last year in the committee prioritizing the top seeds.
If this is actually what you expect then you are in for a surprise tomorrow.I despise the Luardi pimping by ESPN during Dec/Jan. So don't pay any attention and mute TV when he's on. Why some fans get so focused on seeding, amazes me.

I still believe most seeding is done by Friday or Saturday morning.Committee guy in CBS said they are using performance based metrics more to see who gets into the tournament and productive metrics more for seeding. That bodes well for Iowa State.
