This thread proves what a good agent can do for you. Dupe the world into actually believing you can coach. The idea that anyone would want a guy like that coaching at ISU is pretty scary.

I have a hard time of thinking of coaches who have done less with more. Its USC, its not like there is no talent there. With that said I see this as a 0% possibility and for that I'm greatful.

Lane Kiffin could very well be a good OC. His record at USC as OC was impressive, and he appeared to be a good recruiter at that time. There's really no way to prove whether that success was due to his predecessor or his own ability. LK's father and father-in-law have NFL ties, which probably doesn't hurt his recruiting abilities, although his F-I-L has had some law and substance abuse issues over the past few years.

It seems clear he's not very good at head coaching. He seems to be controlled by his ego, and perhaps this has been pushing him to take these HC jobs for which he does not appear to be equipped. I think some interesting questions for LK are 1) how much have these last two failures hurt his college recruiting ability, and 2) has his ego and pride been sufficiently tempered by his failures that he would seek a position below that of HC which better matches his abilities, or will he insist on being a top dog somewhere?

As far as LK as ISU OC...likely not. Unless he undergoes a radical personality change, it doesn't seem like he fits in Ames. He did grow up in MN so he has midwest blood, but looks like he has been in mostly warmer-weather "big city" envnironments since college.

"Lane Kiffin is moving to Ames, Iowa." Can anyone listen to that and ever imagine a scenario? He is toxic. It's NFL assistant for life is my guess. Even so, can you imagine selling an owner or your team on Lane Kiffin if you are a head coach. I laugh out loud when I imagine Lane and Rhoads or Lane and Pollard in the same company. It's like Jenna James singing in the church choir.

what would be the chance and are OC courtny messingham losses his job and the end of the season...and lane kiffin comes in as the new OC...not saying this should happen but we lack majorly on offense due to are playing calling and not able to handle the blitz!!!!

Don't be a *******. What are the chances that Lane Kiffen and his huge ego will decide to come be the OC at Iowa State? The chances are less than 0.
