Derek is a great addition. I like the concept of the show as a mostly Big 12 show. And Brend seems like a nice guy, but he brings no energy to the mic. Podcasts require knowledge, but it's an entertainment product. Brend, who is on TV every night, seems to be afraid to let loose. I think that's his religious choir boy personality coming through.
Yeah but it’s nice to have a SFW pod I can listen to. Although I only listened to the first 30 minutes.

Yeah he needs to work on that, but it seems like he's got good chemistry with Derek. I thought he was a little less halting than he was on FE.

I still find him to be a pompous ass. And if he wants to get political, he should have his own podcast somewhere.
Miller has either changed his entire belief system and personality 180 degrees or has decided it's more economically advantageous to act this way, for now.

I have a feeling he'd become a knob again if Iowa made the playoffs or final four.

That's awesome...and not surprising. So, again, great strategy by Williams and Hassle as they build their company.

I listened to CW and AD's latest pod and was very insightful. Something CW said which I knew, but was glad to hear him say, is they have the data to truly show what works/what doesn't (where I dont' think radio can really do that...maybe better now with some of their shows having pods after).

I know there are personal and professional relationships likely weaved into the Iowa Everywhere company (and i'd say it's always tough to see in the DSM market who are truly pals vs just work colleagues)....which is probably great, but also makes you wonder if there will ever be any "shade" thrown from KXNO folks....I'm thinking the Hawkeye Reaction stuff...I've never tuned in, but I just have to think Hassle/AD will be much better/more entertaining (without commercial breaks, etc)....i could see Travis making passive aggressive comments "If you want to listen to the original reaction show" or other stuff like that. (also recognize they take live calls which probably has it's own entertainment factor).

That was a ramble....but big kudos to CW and crew who seem way ahead of the curve on this stuff and we all benefit.
Speaking of Travis. If IE ever brings him on, I will boycott the entire network. Nobody cares, but I thought I'd share. ;)

I enjoy watching 2 Guys just because I like the banter between CW and Hassel, and I get maybe 30-40% ISU talk. I still need to listen to the new Big 12 talk show, but wish it was just ISU talk.

Other than that, nothing on IE that exists or is being added does anything for me. I’ll stick to Cyclone Fanatic podcasts where I can get ISU talk and not all the Hawkeye loving from all the IE shows.

Get Jared Stanz back and give him an all ISU show on IE…. now that would be some must watch content for me.

It's better than Firmly Entrenched, which was unlistenable because it was so dry and felt cheap/amateurish and I loved Osen.

But Jake is still just so bland on these. I don't know if they need to factor in more lighthearted weekly segments to spic things up or what, but it'd be nice if it sounded like he was having fun for once.

The Drive with Heather and Sean now being 4 hours long is even more unbearable to listen to than before. I can't even stand to listen to it anymore it is so full of fluff to fill the time. Usually I at least give The Morning Rush and The Drive a shot when I get in the car and if the conversation is bad I am quick to change the channel these days instead of put myself through the pain of listening to the rambles go on way longer than they should.

Anyone remember the days we used to complain about Cotlar in the morning then whoever Miller was paired with in the afternoon wheter it was Marty, Perrault, or Jim Brinson? Man I would kill to have thsoe shows back (with the exception of Marty) as at least they talked sports for a good part of the time and had solid guest lineups to fill the time with mostly sports related topics. The morning show is basically shock jock radio most of the time with Travis going down paths to get reactions and I don't even know what The Drive is anymore as it's basically Heather reading random tweets or coming up with some random Top 5 list to fill air time while they mumble on about the latest current events and maybe have 5-0 check in to kill a few more minutes of time.

Sadly Marty is the most talented sports radio guy to ever pass through Des Moines. Obviously a scum bag, but the dude just had “it” on the radio.

i thought maybe you were talking about bruns for a second. all his twitter seems to be nowadays. hes obviously free to express his opinion as he chooses, just not for me!
It's unfortunate how many good/knowledgeable/entertaining Twitter accounts I've had to mute that are typically relevant to ISU athletics but get political just a touch too often.

yeah I agree.. which, again, thats fine that they want to go that route. They can do what they want. Just isn't for me as someone who just wants to see more sporty things than anything else

I have never listened to IE but I will probably switch soon. Also never listend to a podcast. Do I need an app?
It's on Youtube. I mostly use Spotify to listen while puting kids to bed since youtube shuts off when phone screen is off.
