Heard Trent say at the beginning of the Drive, I don't know why he was on, but he said ISU is maybe #5 in the Sioux City area and #3 at best in eastern Iowa. There are a lot of Cyclones in eastern Iowa and Trent is just way off on that. Anyway, I shut it off soon thereafter.

He's wrong about Eastern Iowa. No idea who he thinks is #2. There's nobody close.

I actually know a number of UNI fans who hate Iowa. I also know very few UNI fans though.

#3 in Eastern Iowa? We're behind Iowa, but who is #2? If he thinks there are more Wisconsin or Illinois fans in eastern Iowa, he's just dead ******* wrong.

My in-laws are UNI fans that prefer ISU to Iowa, but I wouldn't say they're big Cyclones. One of my best childhood friends is a UNI alum and fairly big ISU fan. He actually owns ISU gear and goes to games at Jack Trice on occasion. He roots for UNI when they play us, but is an ISU fan the rest of the year.

It's legit 65/35 Iowa to ISU in this part of the woods (I live a mile from the Winneshiek County line in Howard County). You never see Minnesota or Wisconsin gear either.

People in the more populated/central parts of Iowa always forget about us. The Driftless is kind of it's own thing. I looked at that station coverage and my first thought was "nobody north of Highway 18 is going to hear any of this".

He's stuck 40 years in the past. When I was growing up it was possible (but probably not likely) that Iowa State was #3 in NE Iowa. For sure there were far less Iowa State fans than there are now. Now? It's a lot closer.

I live in Dubuque and see a lot more Bucky Badger than Cy around here. But that hasn't been in the case in other eastern IA towns/non WI border towns I've lived in or spent time in. I have lived up and down Highways 20 and 218 my whole life essentially and ISU has been #2 everywhere else, though it is a very distant #2.

So KXNO is going State wide with about 4/5 stations creating a network to carry KXNO across the entire state.

"The station is going to crash and go out of business" guys are really eating it today. All the current shows will stay on the air as well.

What programming was on the other stations at this time?
Instead of Kxno crashing did the others just do that?

Condon just claimed that Iowa/Minnesota is a bigger deal in the Mason City area (he’s from Osage) than CyHawk.

That is absolutely not true. Minnesota fans don’t care, and there aren’t any there anyhow. Plenty of Cyclones though.
