I was there also, it was a good time even though we lost to N.C. State??

Yep...but was fun. Game time temp was in the 50s...we sat there in our shirt sleeves like we were at the beach while the Wolfpack faithful were sport'n down coats! Wasn't a very well attended game, but anything that gets you out of Iowa in December is a good thing! Plus, Atlanta isn't Shrevepit!!!

Re: Retro uniforms

Only things these unis lacked was the Beat Iowa across the chest like the jerseys from the first game of the series renewal in '77.

Hopefully the Athletic Department can work something out so we can wear these unis the rest of the year.......look good, feel good, play good.

Agree! They looked great! Even before we won the game. Not sure why we did not wear red tops though, but anyway, let's push this further to Pollard. These uniforms were our glory years(76/77/78). Sorry, we really have no other glory years. The uniforms for the first two games were terrible and why are we getting the white helmet shoved down our throats?

We wore the white tops because this game was honoring the Peach Bowl team of 30 years ago, which wore the white jerseys in that game.

I agree - we should keep these unis permanently. I liked the "next season's" version, but I like these much better.

Re: You CANNOT tell me...

When I turned on the game and saw those uniforms - that was my immediate thought. I really like the throw-backs. I say KEEP THEM!!!

Man, if those uni's are the reason we played so well today, the clones need to wear them CONSTANTLY. Home, away, it doesn't matter. Hell, send the kids to class in them.

Throwbacks - 30 Years Ago

Some interesting history that we were discussing in the stands on Saturday - 30 years ago, when the rivalry was renewed, EIU won in Iowa City by just two points (12 - 10). A low-scoring affair with a two-point differential.

I thought the throwback uniforms looked great and wouldn't mind seeing that again.

Couldn't agree more. Tweak the helmets a bit (I would just prefer the big I and not the ISU in it) and I think we have a uniform that we could call our "everyday." They looked freakin' sweet.

I'm the odd ball, I thought the jerseys were so-so, I hated the helmets, but you guys are right.... if we are winning games while we wear them I see no reason to change!

Keep 'em...much better than crayola red jersey/yellow pants of the first two games.

By the sounds of things, I think we finally have a design everyone agrees upon, and will end the uniform debate for good.

You aren't an odd ball. The throwbacks were fun but they were just that. Seeing the jerseys reminded me of the Walden era, and we also had about five different colors in there.

Also, wearing white at home is a sacrilege, and gray masks in 2007 is a fad.

What a memorable win though.
