Not going to hate on a kid who is 18 and probably been through more than I have ever been through or will go through. Hope he finds a fit.

Agreed. Hopefully he figures it all out and has a successful college career.

I would advise him not to commit again until signing day though.

Feel bad for the kid as well. It would appear there are some pretty heavy outside influences on his decision. To me it feels as if there is a family member or someone trying to get something out of it as well (i.e. KU basketball parents and local jobs). I'm sure they've tried but a coach, principal, teacher, or someone needs to intervene and try to guide the kid in his best interest.

Yep.

Oh boy....Well I trust that Campbell will do more than just due diligence before he offers this kid, let alone accepts a commitment.

Why not? I was thinking about it when he decommitted from Indiana. Why not just send him an offer just to see if he'll accept. Just have to go in to it knowing what your getting in to. At the same time, I wouldn't spend a whole lot of time here either.

Juan is probably also running out of options to play at a big level due to his decommittments.

Not even sure how to feel about this? Trust CMC I guess is all you can do.

His 247 profile shows an upcoming visit to Michigan on November 5th. Clearly his talent is not the issue

There's no real downside to getting him on campus. if he signs in February, he has the talent to be worth the risk of a scholarship...if he wigs out and can't perform/hold to a commitment, we've really lost nothing. On the risk/reward spectrum this is a pretty rational move for Coach Campbell.

People just need to not think of kids as committed until they actually sign. It is a big decision that they should take their time on. I would welcome this kid with open arms if he wants to come. We need all the help we can get on the DL. Really no risk for CMC as long as he doesn't hold a scholarship for him. But even with that he is probably good enough to hold one anyways if he wants to consider us.

You can always kick him off the team if needed.....my biggest worry would be that it would scare away more of the sane talent i.e. Lima and Tongamoa
