If there is something in particularly you would like to see (or a particular angle), please let me know. I wander around outside the stadium on most weekends (and go into the stadium on some weekdays).
OH man....now you are opening a can of worms!!

Actually, anything to do with the RV Village is what I am enjoying selfishly.

A good picture of the driving lanes between the RV sections would be great and then just progress pictures of the actual parking spots as they "pretty" them up. THANK YOU!!!

I've taken a lot more photos than I've posted. And I've taken many of them from the far south end of the RV Village. They are doing the construction from south to north in rows that run east to west. The actual pads are angled southeast/northeast. I've been taking photos of the work on the southernmost rows. They are just about ready to do the landscaping on the grassy areas of the first few rows. However, on the north end, all they have done is to lay the utilities and pour concrete posts for the utility hook-ups.

Here are a few pics from the southernmost edge where the work has progressed the farthest. I’ll try to take some this weekend that show the driving lanes between rows.

So from the looks of things, and assuming these will be "back in" sites, you will essentially be tailgating with the people diagonally across the grass from you and not directly next to you.

Watching some people back into these spots could be interesting depending on how wide the lanes are between sections.

Get there before your pad mate and you can drive straight through their spot to yours.

Pads are 110 feet long and will accommodate two 55-foot RV spots. As I understand it, both are intended to be "pull-in" with your grass and utilities to the right. However, each will pull-in from a different road.

Or to put it differently, you will drive east on the access road in order to pull into a southeast-facing spot with your grass to the right (west). You will drive west on the access road in order to pull-in to a northwest-facing spot with your grass to the right (east).

The utility poles are in the middle of the 110 foot grassy area (14 feet wide) to serve the grassy areas on both sides of the pole.

The actual construction is looking pretty much like shown on the drawing below.

Not necessarily. You will still need to use your designated grassy area, so you may have your awning on the wrong side if you pull all the way through.

Can't wait to hear the RV donors complain about how close the RV's are to each other... Those spots look tight

My thoughts exactly. People have been pretty accustomed to pouring out into the drive lanes of the previous lots and some taking up WAY more space than they need. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I still love the thought of not hearing generators, but I think this is going to create more of a camping, and less of a tailgating, atmosphere. Time will tell.

Donors complaining??? Nah, that never happens. :)

It will be spots are too tight, or we are now too far away from the stadium/other tailgaters, etc.

The spots are 55 by 24 (with 10 of concrete and 14 of grass). It is more like a campground or retirement RV park than the old back-to-back parking lot tailgates.

I think there should be plenty of demand for both types of tailgating. Perhaps once the RV Village is full, they might reopen a D-lot for the "old-fashioned" tailgates.

Wow. Nobody is going to get this correct. People will be trying to share the same tailgating area.......I might as well start complaining now.

So everyone drives in and and then backs out. This is going to be entertainment after the game.

I could be wrong. Perhaps they are all pull-thru pads with both spots having their tailgates on the same sides. However, I think that all spots will be designated, so lots of folks are going to have to back in/out because of others who got there before them.

I understand the desire to put the utility connections in the center, but every RV, 5th wheel I've owned, the connections are in the rear. Maybe some are in the front, but I've never owned one like that. I guess I'm going to need to bring a lot of cable.

If you were going to have to back in from one end then you could drive in from the other end and you would still be facing the same way.

If these are all designed for a pull in then the issue is on the out. The nice thing about the RV lots is most stick around for a while so there is little "mad-rush" to get out at game end. A few leave right away, some stay for an hour, some stay for a couple hours, some stay for 3-4 hours, some stay overnight. At least that has been my experience in D-3 and D-4.

As far as complaining goes, never underestimate the capacity to complain. However, having grass to tailgate on will be a premium improvement. There will probably still be some complaining when it is wet and soggy, though. No generator noise will be nice, but there will still be some tailgaters who think that the whole RV lot wants to hear whatever crappy music they are listening to. Music is great part of tailgating, but some go way overboard with their penis extending sound systems.

We will also miss the ability to adjust whether we are facing toward the sun on cool days or away from the sun on those scorchers.

One of the biggest adjustments will be the remoteness of the lot. We were used to having a lot of friends beyond our tailgate group drop by as they make their rounds, on their way in to the game or post game. It will no longer be "on the way" to stop by but requiring a special trip for most since if there is a bright center to the universe we will be the farthest from it.

Between getting our RV parking moved and a good part of our group displaced by the student move it will be a year of adjustment. But as the saying goes, adapting to change is optional - but so is survival.

And here are a few pics of the new grass field. You may need to click on the photo to get it in focus.

The field is gorgeous, lush, no gaps … and no green spray paint!
Just beautiful. Ready to receive another national award for best stadium turf.

I have found the best way to ignore the sound of generators... drink more beers. It works beautifully.
