Crap, better keep the Iowa Band off that otherwise they'll just go straight off the edge like Lemmings!
You know, in twenty years people will be taking this bridge for granted, as if it’s always been there.
Oh, and some of you young whippersnappers will be the old farts.
Please let that happen! Better yet, the band stops coming to Ames altogether.

Considering the “experimental” part is the sand base, I’m not sure if they’d add another variable.

I know it has been said once already, but thanks again to those locally that are taking pictures and adding to this thread. We will have one of the new RV spots this year. We are going to make a trip over to Ames late this summer to check out the RV spots so we know what to expect opening weekend but its fun to see the progress.

But "no gaps"? I would hope not.
There were lots of bare spots in the old field that would colored over. And when they first installed the new sod, there were "strips" of bare spots, but those all seem to have filled in nicely.
The new grass will prove that our field maintenance people deserve their reputation for excellence.
If there is something in particularly you would like to see (or a particular angle), please let me know. I wander around outside the stadium on most weekends (and go into the stadium on some weekdays).
Haha. Not retired quite yet. I live in Ames and have a fairly flexible work schedule. Sometimes, I make calls or have Zoom meetings from the upstairs of the Jacobsen Building while overlooking the stadium.
