What's the story on this sale? There has to be some sort of gimmick right? I've never been in the store before, but need a new suit.

i got ripped a new one in the suits thread for saying I like Joseph A Banks suits especially when they have a deal like this.

I love the suits, their tailoring is spot on - but they don't cost $850 a piece so I guess some people don't like them.

Are you wearing one in your avatar? If so, they're pretty spiffy.

I'd wait for the 70% off sale. Though they just did that a couple weeks ago. Before that it was get 70% with purchase of three items.

When my buddy did this the lady worker was convinced by him to make him pay for the cheapest one, then he got 3 more expensive suits for free. Spent like 200 bucks for 4 suits.

now that would be good - I figured they'd make you go with the expensive suit as the one you "pay" for.

Yeah, most of the time, the register will automatically do that no matter how you ring them up. Unless manually over-ridden, or you actually saw the receipt, I'd be skeptical.

It isn't a gimmick. The quality might not be the best but if you are in the market for an affordable suit or 4 then this is your place.

I've purchased several suits from JoS. A. Bank. They're decent quality and unless you're in a job that makes you wear a suit every day, I think they're just perfect.

I just bought a new suit there a few weeks back on the 70% off sale and have no complaints.

I don't shop there but let's so a CF deal. CyFan and I will each get two suits and split the cost. You come pick me up in 30 minutes. I'll be waiting.

It's not a gimmick. I needed a suit earlier this year and they had 2 for 1 at that time. I spent $800 but got two $800 suits that I don't need.

Their suits are a really solid value when you get them at 70% to 75% off their marked up 'retail price'. They are about as good as you can do for a ~$200 suit, unless you happen upon a clearance on a medium range suit somewhere.

The only catch for some people is that they end up with more suits than they wanted/needed, 4 in this case.

Not bad if you don't wear a suit often but they are low quality. They don't hold their seem stitching comes undone. Also do yourself a favor and take them to a local tailor for about half the price.

They have some good merch but nobody should EVER pay retail at JOSBanks. My only quibble with them is there colors and styles do NOT change much thus once you get your basic wardrobe of slacks, sport coat, dress shirts there is no reason to go back for a while.

What do their employees do all day when they aren't having these sales?

I have never been to the store, or heard good or bad about them, but with the amount of advertising they do, I would never go unless I saw a mega sale like this.

I am intrigued though as I only have one suit, and not sure if it even fits (haven’t worn it in a couple years). May need a few options in the future that are cheap and get the job done as I hardly wear them.
