Joaquin Phoenix soars again in 'The Master'

He's been a bit of an odd duck at times, but I think he's a fantastic actor. Walk the Line is one of the better films I've ever seen.

He and Leonardo Dicaprio are two of the most gifted actors of their generation IMO.

I would say its much more of Phillip Seymour Hoffman film, direceted by Paul Thomas Anderson, featuring Joaquin Phoenix. And it looks amazing, the first of a long line of awesome movies this fall/winter and guess what NO SUPERHEROES thank God.

I would say its much more of Phillip Seymour Hoffman film, direceted by Paul Thomas Anderson, featuring Joaquin Phoenix. And it looks amazing, the first of a long line of awesome movies this fall/winter and guess what NO SUPERHEROES thank God.

No. You are wrong. The movie revolves around Joaquin's character Freddie. He meets PSH, who is called the master. Phoenix is also being billed as the lead, as well as getting early oscar calls for best actor in a leading role, where as Hoffman is being talked about as receiving a supporting nod. You will see when you go see it when is comes out this weekend, or whenever you go see it.

If I had to choose I would say Joaquin because the movie from beginning to end was his story. Although Phillip Seymour Hoffman's character was in a lot of it and played a significant part.

I enjoyed the movie - but I will probably not watch it a second time
