Exact opposite of Tebow. Tebow rarely turned it over while Lin turns it over all the damn time.

Exact opposite. Lin is a good player, where Tebow is not. The reason Tebow didn't have 25 or more interceptions is because his passes are normally so far away from anyone, they are uncatchable by all.

Turnovers in football and basketball aren't very comparable. 2 turnovers in football are typically FAR worse than 6 turnovers in basketball. I will take his points/assists line all day even if it comes with 4-8 turnovers. The most important stat of course is that New York has won 6 straight games with him manning the point.

Exactly. The comparison you are hearing is Steve Nash...Nash has turned the ball over a lot through his career but its overshadowed by all the great plays he made.

Lintastic!! Linsanity > Tim Tebow
For sure. At least all of the crazy hype surrounding Lin involves actually playing well.

No kidding. Denver was winning almost in spite of Tebow at times. Sorry Tebow lovers but he is not a good quaterback. 48% completions. Terrible. While the knicks are winning because of Lin. And Lin isnt just winning, he is breaking 30 year old records in the process.

Undrafted Lin>>>>>>>>> First round hiesman winner Tebow

Holy crap......I keep figuring he'll start to cool off. But 27 points, 11 assists. I don't even care about those 8 turnovers. Much like our own Royce, sometimes you just have to accept the flaws to get the benefits :)

And to top it off with a game winning 3? Where he stared down the defense and just rose up and shot it? That's crazy.

Jeremy Lin is what I love about sports. Up until Friday night I had no idea who in the hell he was. Just starting seeing tweets about him. I didn't know he wasn't a rookie or that he had just started playing.

I can't believe the Tebow comparison. Their athletic careers couldn't be more different.

Tebow was a 5 star HS recruit. Lin wasn't offered a D1 scholarship.

Tebow was a dominant college player who won 2 championships and a Heisman. Lin played at Harvard. I don't believe he ever even made the tourney.

Tebow was a top-15, first round draft choice. Lin was undrafted and cut twice.

Tebow was expected to succeed at every level, no one ever expected anything from Lin

So just stop it. People here and especially ESPN.

It's more of a comparison of how they draw attention and and stimulate excitement than how they play and their past. (for me anyway)

I can stand whatever you want to call Lin. Tebow, on the other hand, scarred me for life and I can no longer watch ESPN unless a game is on.

I love that probably most of the Lin followers were probably Tebow haters. Well I will play the card the Tebow haters did. Tebow haters big thing was that Tebow was leading Denver to wins over teams that were not good. Knicks have beat nobodies yes I'm including the Lakers - who are Kobe and 11 pieces of crap. Can't wait till they play REAL teams like the Heat and Bulls.

I just hope Lin followers and Tebow followers don't hate each other: they all good athletes and good citizens. It's a waste of time comparing these 2: both play different sports, have different paths. We're just lucky to have good high-profile athletes who are also model citizens who represent perseverance and can-do attitude instead of "me-first" attitude.

The comparison is that they both took over teams that were dead in the water and had no shot to get to the playoffs and they changed the culture within the locker room. The teams have started winning games and make the playoffs. There is/was excitement back to franchises that hadn't had much to be excited about lately.

If people can't see the comparison, it's because they aren't looking

Lin story is great. I love it. The funny thing about Lin is he has that boyish "having a blast and can't really believe it himself" attitude going on. No ego at all. At least yet. I hate the NBA but I am finding myself tune into sportcenter right now to see what he does next.

As a lifelong Bulls fan, the Knicks are not high on my list and I've enjoyed laughing at them being the most poorly run sports franchise in the entire world the past decade...so I can't believe I'm cheering for them now.

The question is, how will Knicks front office ruin this winning lottery ticket that landed in their lap? Recent history says they'll eventually find a way back to sucking even with 3 all stars in the starting lineup. If they do stay on a roll, the coach has a track record of tearing up the regular season and flaming out with bad defense in the playoffs.

D'Antoni had some horrible playoff luck in Phoenix. From Joe Johnson breaking his face against Dallas, to the bogus leaving the bench suspensions in the San Antonio series. Not to mention having to deal with one of the cheapest owners in all of sports selling off his draft picks.

D'Antoni's teams need good pg play to thrive and now he's finally getting it, at least for the time being, with Lin. Amare will have no problem fitting in with him, and he's making Chandler much better. Carmelo probably won't fit in near as well. I know it sounds crazy but they I would be floating Carmelo's name out there and seeing what I could get back. He's never been a good fit on this team, with Amare or with D'Antoni.

I think the biggest difference between Lin and Tebow is that no one knew who Jeremy Lin was 2 weeks ago. We grew up on Tebow winning national championships and heismans at Florida. No one followed Lin through his college career at Harvard. Lin literally came out of no where when Tebow was always known and just got a chance to start.

Tebow definitely drew attention, which I'm sure he rather not receive, be he didn't stimulate excitement unless you are a Denver Donkey fan.

Yeah, this might be the smart play, depending on how this plays out, especially if they could get a nice piece in return.
