Happy with this call. I'm sure Iowa is crapping their "Aluminum Pantz" right about now. Or so the joke goes on HawkeyeTrollNation.

I am ecstatic that SJ was named starter! I think he is our best option to have a fast paced exciting offense. Of course that question comes up is whether he will be consistent. We are soon to find out! 11 days!

Yeah, if he gets in a hole against Tulsa, I don't think the staff would hesitate to get JB in there.

Yeah, and I don't like that. The press release, to me sounded pretty wish washy and I don't like throwing a guy in there to "test" him, so to speak. If he's your guy, he's your guy. I'm not saying for the whole season, but you can't just pull him if he has a bad first half, IMO.

Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement from Rhoads. Sounds like "I had to pick a starter so I am going with Jantz but if that doesn't work out we have Barnett"

Right call.

Jantz wasn't the same after the injury against UConn. Hopefully a healthy Jantz returns to the heroics he brought to the field against UNI and Iowa.

Injuring his ankle was not the cause of his struggles.

You guys are taking it out of context. It was more of a compliment to Barnett then it was a jab at Jantz.
